Amazing location with public track, playground, pool, basketball and tennis courts across the street -- easy landing spot to explore the city. You'll have the basement floor of our row home & private bathroom and laundry. We are a young family who loves DC and we own a local coffee shop.

The space

You'll take over the entire bottom floor of our row house - there's a double bed, plenty of closet space, and we can provide a double sized air mattress or pack and play crib if you need. We also have a futon that can pull out into a bed, it's a little short but comfy. We can provide a baby gate, high chair, and books and toys for any little guests.

It's all one room, with a laundry and bathroom space adjacent. There's a back door out to the fenced in backyard, up a few stairs so you have privacy. Dogs welcome (plus we have dog treats).

Fresh linens, space heater in case you're chilly, free laundry with iron/ironing board, wifi, nespresso machine (coffee!!), hot water heater and tea, and private bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer. Our house has a Little Free Library in the front yard! Take or leave any books you want during your stay.

Plenty of free street parking (we can share our guest permit with you for a deposit if you're
here on a weekday and there's free spots on the street on the weekend). Mini fridge/freezer and microwave provided, and some drinks, snacks, mugs, silverware, and plates too.

There's a few metro cards there for your use and some Washingtonian magazines with tips about the best dining, walks, and other adventures in DC. We can likely be flexible about check in and check out times, or at least hold your luggage while you're off exploring.

Guest access

We'll close the basement off from the rest of the home so you have your own personal space. Entry is through our front door, the stairs to the basement are through the kitchen.

Please note the room does not include the use of our kitchen or common space.

You're also welcome to use or front porch or (small) back yard - the yard is fenced in- but no smoking on our property, even outside.

Interaction with guests

If we're in town we'll make sure you're set up, have what you need, answer a few questions about DC and the neighborhood, and otherwise be out of your hair. We live right upstairs but will give you your space (and vice versa!).

Other things to note

We have a dog, but he's never in the basement unit.

This room is so fine, clean, delicate, comfortable. AnneMarie has prepared everything we need. Although it is a basement, room's air is good and there is no any bad smell. AnneMarie always keeps the temperature fine. the bus no 70 can directly bring us to National Gallery of Art and it is convenient(fee is $2, transfer no fee ). In summary, we strongly recommend the room to you.

What a wonderful location! Anne Marie was really proactive and communicative so our check-in and parking concerns were non-issues. We went to see a show at 9:30 club and this was a ten minute walk away, which we loved. The suite is beautifully decorated and the bed is SO COMFY! Wonderful and thoughtful hosts who left us homemade cookies! We'd love to stay here again when we're in DC.

My husband and I have been proud owners of our very own D.C. row house since Sept. 2014. When not running a coffee shop we like to be outdoors and figure out how to be parents - our daughter was born in June 2016.

We are huge fans of D.C., happy to share some intel on our top picks for food/drinks/touristing/getting around. We love staying at Airbnbs when we travel too.
