The Stables in a brand new converted barn located adjacent to Startforth Hall. The cottage is set back along a drive from the quiet village of Startforth, half a mile walk from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. Extremely spacious and comfortable, fitted with all modern furnishings and underfloor heating while retaining some historical features. The property has private parking and private outside seating area.

The space
A large open plan kitchen, dining and living area on the ground floor. Own front door over looking a newly landscaped garden and trees. There is a large bedroom with a very comfy super-king bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. An ensuite bathroom with both a bath and shower.
There is a patio for enjoying the evening sunshine.
There are plenty of beautiful walks on the doorstep and it's only a 5 minute walk across the footbridge in to Barnard Castle.

Guest access
There is 50 metre driving way out of the centre of the village just beyond the church. Drive up this and there is parking situated just in front of the cottage.
Your host will either meet you or arrange a suitable location to leave the key if they are away.

Neighbourhood highlights

This cottage is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Barnard Castle. A small old market town, made famous by Dominic Cumming's 'visit' for a sight test. Apart from a Specsavers, there are many cafes and beautiful antique shops to explore. The Bowes Museum is a must see and Barnard Castle itself is a ruin but interesting to explore. We are situated on the River Tees, with many beautiful surrounding countryside and walks. We can recommend many walks and several good pubs for a spot of lunch. There are several farm shops within 10 minutes (Mainsgill and Cross Lanes) and the historic Raby Castle, Egglestone Abbey, Eggleston Gardens and the waterfalls High Force and Low Force are well worth a visit.
