We loved the height above an elegant street which is a quiet cul-de-sac off a very busy main arterial road with excellent transport options for exploring London and lovely walks through back streets to Hyde Park. Stairs are steep for the three flights up to the gracious apartment, and with no lift it is a bit of a mission getting the luggage up there, but it's lovely to open windows onto the tops of trees after a day out in gritty London, and the apartment is a small, comfortable haven. It's easy to eat in because of the wide choice of excellent take home meals. We loved it.

We stayed 8 days in the flat. The location of the flat is great, however you must be prepared to climb 3 full flights of steep stairs, which was not a problem for us, my husband is 67 and I'm 56. Also, we like a firm bed but found the bed "hard" slopes toward your feet a bit and the mattress seems dated. In addition, it is only a "double" US sized bed and it very short. My husband is 6'2" and I am 5'11". It is not the "double" size that the Continental hotel rooms advertise meaning they put 2 twin beds together, My husband and I did not sleep well on the bed together and one or the other of us slept on the couch every night, which is also not full-sized, more like a love seat and not made to fold out into a bed. However if you were single, the bed would most likely be fine. Other than that there were no wash cloths or hand towels provided, (which I consider pretty standard and should be included) and only 2 dish towels with and old sponge at the sink, which I didn't find adequate for a weeks stay. Everything else was great. We shopped for groceries at the M&S on the corner everyday. TV and washer/dryer, stove/oven, and dishwasher all worked well. Alex has a housekeeper who met us, she was prompt and helpful. We loved the location, which is very convenient and quiet. The flat is comfortable and we felt right at home. I would stay again, if we could get a few more towels and the bed was upgraded.

Response from Alex:
I am very sorry to hear that you didn't like the apartment's sleeping arrangements, I always advise guests to communicate any uncomforts to my housekeeper, we could have relocated you to a ground floor apartment with a super king size bed had you made us aware, the mattress is new and we generally get medium hard because many people complain about soft mattresses as you just did about hmedium ard. As fot towels we supply the standard 2 per person, had you asked for more tea towels we would have supplied them. In the cleaning cupboard invthe kitchen we have a stock of new sponges and detergents. Again I cannot further stress the need to communicate anything that is not to your satisfaction to my housekeeper so as to guarantee an enjoyable stay.

Great flat, fantastic location (only a few minutes' walk to Harrods, but in a secluded quiet spot), good natural light and open views. The apartment is on the third floor (fourth floor by American standards) with no elevator, so not ideal if you don't want a little exercise coming and going, or have heavy luggage. Wifi and TV worked well. Decor is same as in photos-- tasteful and comfortable, with some pretty antique pieces. Heating worked well even on a cold stormy night in February. Overall, a nice convenient London base, especially if you'll be shopping in Knightsbridge.

Fantastic location, a stones throw away from harrods, walking distance to some great food places in south Kensington. Apartment was clean and tidy and always so warm, communication was brilliant. Great stay would recommend it.

Overall, we had a wonderful time here. The flat is right in the hustling/bustling area of Brompton Rd shopping and couldn't be more accessible to Harrod's shopping and their wonderful food hall, but removed from the main street just far enough to quiet most of the city noise. Very short walk to Knightsbridge tube stop for the Piccadilly line and a slightly longer (10 minutes) walk to South Kensington for Circle, District, and Piccadilly lines, thus you can pretty much get anywhere from here. Clearly an expensive area to live as the parking is full of Bentleys, Ferraris, and Rolls. We wanted a place to stay for a week and not have to eat every meal in a restaurant. Alex's flat was ideal and contained everything we needed. Accessories like the toaster, electric kettle, and multiple methods of coffee making were perfect for our needs in having breakfast-in before starting our days of sightseeing. We did not cook any large meals, but probably could have if needed. There are two small grocery shops within minutes of the flat. The size of the flat was good for us, travelling with our 8 year old daughter. She slept on a fold-out sofa in the living area. This was no problem, but it would be a more comfortable space for a couple or single accommodation. As others have mentioned, several flights of stairs are the only way in and out. This could be a problem for elderly or the out-of-shape, but didn't bother us at all. The washing machine/dryer was really helpful for us. It was convenient to be able to do several loads of laundry during our stay. Communication was easy, meeting for keys was easy, wifi worked well, we really had no problems with our stay.

It is perfect! It is very convenient to go everywhere! All rooms are clean and big enough for a family. Kitchen is particularly good and has a wide variety cookware. It is worth to live~

Fairly accurate. I expected it to be slightly more elegant decor. Otherwise very functional. Great location.
