Considered 10 of the coolest neighbourhoods in Europe by the newspaper "The Guardian". The fishing quarter of El Cabanyal, is the most authentic Valencian neighbourhood whether you want to shop, eat, admire the tiled facades and modernist style of the traditional houses or find the nearest accomodations to the beach of Valencia. This charming barrio is well worth for your stay on your trip to Valencia.

Tiles
The whole of Valencia is famous for being adorned with colourful ceramic tiles, but especially El Cabanyal, where it can be seen in balconies or its entire facades in its typical buildings.

Market
Valencians know that the best place to buy incredible fresh fish, seafood, meat, olives, cheeses, charcuterie or vegetables is at the local markets and El Cabanyal has its own (Mercado del Cabanyal). You will enjoy viewing the stall holders price, clean and prepare the fish for you.

Tapas
Ready to eat like the locals? The beachfront will offer you a variant offer of quality restaurants but more touristy (and pricey), but just one block behind you will penetrate in our truly local tapas bars, humble bodegas or some fancy restaurants. You might not find menus in english and might prepare yourself to break out your Spanish, point at thing or smile a lot; but surely you’ll find gems such as Casa Montana, opened in 1836, Anyora, Bodega La Pascuala, Cafe De La Bourse...Their menus feature lots of super-fresh seafood so be sure to book ahead.

La Lonja de Pescado
Would you like to have an even more local experience? No matter if you wish to buy or just watch the locals live, buy your fish straight from the hands of the fishermen at the fish market at the area’s small port. Along the harbour at about 4–5pm each weekday you’ll find the local fishermen here, selling part of the day’s catch at bargain prices. Pick up a bag of fish straight from the Mediterranean for just a few euros, see octopus and eels still wriggling in their containers, and gawp at huge fish that resemble sea monsters dragged from the deep. The fisherman aren’t going to clean and prepare the fish for you, but might offer a few cooking tips if you’re lucky.

Beach
Summer is our favourite and so our sandy beach! Swimming, sunbathing, beach games, chiringuitos, music, nice restaurants to eat a good authentic Paella among others. Make sure to stay for the sunset and take a stroll along the marina for a perfect end to a day by the sea, and if you have some more energy visit any of the music bars around or dance all night long in any of the famous clubs such as Marina Beach or Akuarela!. I would be happy to tell you everything about it!
