I had a lovely stay at Loydeens place. The apartment is spacious with great views of the city. The bedroom is big and I had plenty of space to keep my things. There is 24 hour door service and I found the door staff very polite and friendly. The kitchen is a communal area and…

I am grateful to have had a place to live while figuring out NY. Loydeen wasn't home during my stay, therefore, 2 other travelers I lived with and the vibe was very comfortable living with them. The view of the city was nice (be careful no screen, don't lean out to far). I'd reco…

Response from Loydeen:
Hey, You did see the place and got to meet me before moving in and even had time to think about it and get back to me. I had other inquiries, but you said you wanted it. I know you were well aware about sharing the space because we talked about how you were subletting someone else's bedroom (not just an apartment sublet), so that often in New York means you are temporarily taking over their room with their belongings still in there while they are away. If this is the case people clear space for you amongst their things like removing most of their clothes and giving you a section in the closet. In your case you had almost the entire hanging bar in the closet and you had a large closet. The shelf and under the bed was used for storage of the original tenant's things, so that you could use the closet. And YES, parking in New York is a nightmare...you are definitely right about that. It is an endless pain to have to move your car at different dates and times and look for parking each day. It is actually WAY better in my neigborhood than most in Manhattan, but I still wouldn't want to deal with it. And lol. The dresser is an antique dresser. Literally everyone who has stayed in that room prior to you has either come back, asked to come back and/or written me great things about it. I am sorry if you are not use to this type of very New York situation. Usually people who come temporarily do not bring as much stuff as you did until they have found their permanent place. I put mine in storage until I found the apartment I wanted long term and stopped subletting. We discussed this prior to your move-in. I did however try and accommodate you though I was away on vacation by saying you could move stuff around and put some in the living room, which you did, and I even spoke with AirBnb on a way to open up my calendar to rebook and then prorate and give you back the remainder of the refund, but you neer got back to me about wanting to do that. It was gonna take a lot of work on my end and I would be doing it from another state, but I was willing to go above and beyond and do that for you to help out. Most hosts would not have been willing or offered especially when you had accepted the conditions and the cancellation policy was listed in the original booking. Lastly, they do not need to bring a fan. Each room has a fan provided. The bedroom is not allowed an air conditioning unit to ben installed due to the type of window and regulations. I have tried and tried. You are welcome to run the AC in the living room and open your bedroom door though. I know things were a bit different since I was away, but I was always reachable and have had many love living in my pad. I LOVE it here as well. To each it's own. Best of luck on your new place and go in to see if you can get those parking tickets slashed in half because $800 is ridiculous. I hope something can be done about that. Thank you for staying and I hope your new New York life is full of adventure, fun, learning and solid connections with amazing people. Peace and Blessings, - Loydeen
