A destination like no other. Come relax in our sophisticated jungle lounge. You'll find a well appointed, open concept house nestled among trees on the edge of the canyon. The space
Shangri Lounge is on an acre of beautiful property. Our neighborhood is quiet & secluded near the end of a private road on the edge of the American river canyon.

The front patio welcomes you with a crystal clean hot tub (we don’t use chemicals just natural enzymes) & grilling area.

Inside you will find a 1000’ open concept lounge with a small but capable kitchen, a luxurious bathroom complete with a jeweled bath looking over a favorite apple tree, 2 queen beds, one with a brand new firm mattress & one a bit softer with medium foam. We provide high quality bamboo sheets to give you the softest & coolest night sleep possible.

The rear deck is 40’ long & very private, Shades & hanging chairs combined with tropical plants give this space a decidedly decadent vibe. We also have a beautiful fire table and propane palmtree heater for the chilly nights.

If you are looking for something a bit different that feels very luxurious, you've found it.

We are 10 min from the river, 5 minutes from old town Auburn and less than an hour from Tahoe.

Easy one step entry, wide driveway. You are wecome to take a short walk along the canal where you will see spectacular views of the Sierra. Or have a picnic in the shade below the fountain, if you are inclined there is a great canyon loop trail very close by. You may, however, find yourself floating in a hammock chair and not move again all day..:-) Whatever you choose to spend your time doing, we know you'll be happy you stayed with us.

We have created an adult healing oasis in a quiet nook on the edge of the American River canyon.
Our goal is to share this special jewel with world- weary travelers. We have consciously created a space of rejuvenation & tried to anticipate what that could be.. It is our hope that our guests will recharge & rebalance while on the property.

We offer both a front and rear deck for your enjoyment. The rear deck has a horizontal bamboo railing and isn't safe for children. Please don't book if you have young children.

We use all natural cleaning products & detergents. The spa is treated with enzymes only. We take pride in providing a clean & safe space for our guests.

*We have separate art space if you are inclined. We will provide the space & opportunity to create small pieces of art. Advanced reservations are required . Availability is not guaranteed. Message for more details.

*If you, or anyone in your group, would like to book a massage, please do so at least a week before your stay. Availability is not guaranteed. Massage is in the main house. CMT has 24 years of experience with deep tissue, cupping, positional release, Swedish as well as acupressure, trigger point and reflexology all blended to give you relief of whatever ails you. Neighbourhood highlights

Rural, we are on an acre. We do have neighbors but they are not close by. We do hear the train and sometimes highway noise depending on wind conditions.

Hosting our little slice of heaven is a dream come true for my husband and I . Shangri Lounge was once a print making studio. We have spent the last 20 years improving the property and are passionate about hosting & sharing what we have manifested. I'm a massage therapist and work out of the main house (100 ft from the lounge). My husband, Darien grew up on this property and is an artist. Most everything in Shangri Lounge was made by him. We are looking forward to becoming super hosts by spoiling our guests and creating a very unique experience.
