Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our beautifully fitted, spacious yurt with its own wood-fired hot tub is perfect for a romantic rural getaway with a Mongolian twist.
Nestled on the fringes of mature woodland on a small working farm, the yurt is totally secluded and has open views over the breathtaking Dulas Valley in rural Herefordshire. Relax in the private outside area with BBQ and fire pit, and explore local walks, pubs, market towns and historical sites.
Dogs are welcome.
Also check out our 'Dulas Valley Shepherd's Hut'.

The space
A beautiful genuine 20 ft “ger” or yurt, hand decorated with traditional Mongolian symbols and fully lined to cope with the harsh climate of the Steppes, transported to a peaceful corner of rural Herefordshire.
Huge amounts of space and with a super-comfortable king-sized double bed, sofa and chair and, for those seeking an authentic experience, a traditional Mongolian dining area on floor cushions.

The yurt has a separate private hut a few feet away housing a well-equipped kitchen with dining table, ample hot water, gas hob, fridge/ freezer and microwave. The hut also contains a shower room with a compost loo, sink, full size shower and heated rail to keep towels cosy.

Outside you will find a sheltered dining area under a “sail” sunshade, a fire pit, charcoal barbecue, and a wood-fired hot tub, all overlooking the valley with glorious, uninterrupted views.

Guest access
Just 60 minutes from Bristol and Cardiff, 90 minutes from Birmingham, and 3 hours from London, our yurt is perfectly located to discover the beautiful Welsh Marches.
Rolling hills and unspoiled valleys are ideal for hikers, mountain bikers and dog walkers and anyone seeking complete peace and tranquility in stunning unspoiled surroundings. The local area is steeped in history with many ancient castles to visit and the cultural delights of Hereford, Hay, Ross and Abergavenny all within easy reach.

Other things to note
The yurt can be booked in conjunction with our Shepherds Hut which also sleeps two, search "Dulas Valley Shepherds Hut + hot tub with views".

Neighbourhood highlights

From the yurt you can explore the literary hotspot of Hay on Wye with its world-famous literary festival in May (15 miles), historical Hereford with its spectacular Norman cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi (12 miles), or the local food capital, Abergavenny, with its Food Festival in September (12 miles).

For walkers, you can find far reaching views over the Welsh Marches from Offa's Dyke path, just 2 miles from the hut. Slightly further afield, the stunning Brecon Beacons offers a wide variety of walking routes.

For anglers and canoeists, there is excellent fishing or relaxed canoeing on the Wye and Usk rivers by arrangement.

There are also plenty of opportunities for cycling or mountain biking, although be warned, the terrain is quite challenging!

We are lucky to be surrounded by a rich local craft scene, and many artisans offer day and half-day courses in rural pursuits including knife forging, basket weaving, wood carving and glass blowing. Wellness retreats can be arranged with sound therapy in nearby forest.
