There are many walks straight from the front door, you can continue as far as you would like to venture across the fields using one of a number of local footpaths or take a quick and beautiful stroll through Lan Woods. This hillside wood is around 5.6 acres and is now community owned, it was once home to Daren-ddu colliery and has numerous coal levels and stone quarries cut into the hillsides. There are also many walks within driving distance as you have the taff trail 1.6 miles away, Barry Sidings Countryside Park 1.7miles away, and some longer walks around the Brecon Beacon National Park, Pen-y-Fan only 23 miles away.
You can also cycle directly from the cottage, through country lanes towards the local pub 4 miles away and Llanworno or take a short drive to use local routes such as the famous Taff trail 1.6 miles away.
