Interaction with guests
We live in a separate suite downstairs so the space is all yours but we're available if you need anything (if we're not out adventuring!). Breakfast is prepared for you but you eat when you want. You can also cook your own meals.
We would love to talk to you about what to do in the area. We'll help you find bike and canoe rentals, guides and routes to plan your adventures.
We're in a family friendly neighbourhood. Quiet time after 11:00 pm(ish). If you use the kitchen a clean up is appreciated (or we'll do it (for a fee) if you want to just focus on your adventures). We do the breakfast dishes and then leave the space to you ;)
This is a no smoking house.

I have lived in the north for 20 years, most of it in Whitehorse. My daughter Laina has lived all nine of her years here. We love the Yukon, Whitehorse and especially our neighbourhood, Takhini North. It is big and little people-friendly, at the centre of everything, and a walk, bike or ski to the best spots in Whitehorse.
We love mountain biking and trail walks/runs and tennis in the summer and we spend a fair amount of time at the horse arena too, where I’ve honed my shovelling skills and Laina is fine-tuning her jumping. In the winter downhill trumps cross-country skiing for Laina (opposite for me ;) and is only a 10 minute drive. You can ski out the back door and get on to 75 km groomed x-country trails… and there is a skating rink (sometimes in our backyard) in our community park.
We did the Chilkoot trail last year. It was Laina’s first, my umpteenth. It is one of the best “social wilderness” trails around. We would love to help you find some great trails for any activity, any pace, and anywhere in the Yukon.
Yutopia is a new build and captures some of my design ideas and some beautiful art created by others. The Yukon has a bursting arts scene. You can take a studio tour, see local musicians or a live theatre or dance show… or take an art class. We would be happy to suggest some northern artists to check out.
I’m an aspiring gardener but my plants don’t always aspire to be much more than good compost, which thankfully is exactly what our nutrient-free Yukon soil needs … any visiting gardeners out there? I’ll take any advice I can get!
We look forward to meeting you and helping you explore our backyard.
