The space

The flat is in a traditional Scottish tenement, built in 1898. Built with quite generous proportions with high ceiling and larger rooms. The flat still maintains many of its original features, like fireplaces doors and ceiling covings. It has a pleasant aspect over looking a park across the road. It is a very bright flat, due to it very large windows.
I should point out I have one small, well behave and friendly dog called Richard. He’s a border terrier a very Scottish breed..!

Interaction with guests

Normally I will be there is let you into the flat and show you around. I will layout a simple continental style breakfast but then leave you to help yourselves rather than hovering around. I will normally be leaving the flat quite early to go to work. I will be happy to give advice on places to visit and things to do in this beautiful city ; )

The neighbourhood

Stockbridge is a vibrant area with lots of good cafes bars and restaurants. It was consider the more bohemian area of the New Town in Edinburgh attracting many artists to its more relaxed at atmosphere. There are many beautiful parks near by too, Inverleith Park and the incredible botanic gardens.
We are also very close to the Modern Art Gallery, from which you can walk down the Waters of Leith back to Stockbridge, one of my favorite strolls, it is beautiful.
It is only also a 10 to 15 min stroll to princess street, over the wonderful Dean Bridge.

Getting around

Walking is the best way to get around Edinburgh as there is so much to see. The buses are excellent too, £1.50 to get you anywhere in Edinburgh, very simple. If you have a chance to take the tram I would recommend it, its a wonderful way to get around. Even though it did cost fortune to build..!! ; )
You can park for free outside my flat at the weekends. It is metered during the week max stay 4 hrs. There is however free parking about half a mile away up East Fettes Avenue past the turning for Inverleith Place
It's easy to get to my place from the airport. Just take the airport bus or tram to the West End in Edinburgh. Then it's a 10/15 min walk to my flat. (5min taxi) Mostly down hill too..!

Adam was a very considerate host, and was very easy to chat to. His partner Emma had recently moved in too. The final resident is a very sweet dog called Richard. Adam's flat is in a very nice part of the city, and very easy to get into the centre (10-15 minute walk), with handy buses nearby. It's a really easy journey from the airport on the bus. The river Leith and the Botanical gardens are close by too. The bedroom itself is nice (comfy bed!), as is the bathroom. We didn't cook at all in the flat, but Adam left out breakfast foodstuffs for us, which was much appreciated.

I had a very nice experience with Adam when I booked his house for my parents. It was their first Airbnb experience and they loved it! The communication was excellent and quick, beautiful and clean house, calm atmosphere and great location! The breakfast was perfect. Adam made sure everything went well and smooth with my parents. I would definitely recommend him for a great stay in a beautiful city. Thanks again Adam :) Florence

Adam has a lovely flat, very close to the action in Edinburgh city centre. We used his flat for 3 nights as a base for the festival and had a great time. The room is comfortable, breakfast was provided and the area is nice. Parking for non residents is available, but it's a 15-20minute walk from the flat, as its on-street and all the locals know it and get there first! Although we didn't meet Adam, his communication was prompt, helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a fantastic stay at Adam's apartment in Edinburgh. Adam is a really great guy. He was very welcoming and stayed up and chatted with us for a while when we arrived late at night. He provided us with our own cupboard with lots of food for breakfast and set the table for us each morning. The apartment was just perfect. Very clean and comfortable and in a really lovely area near the Botanical gardens. Adam gave us lots of great tips and suggestions for the area. We couldn't have asked for better! We would absolutely stay here again.

Adam was very nice although we arrive so late from airport. He gave us lots of tips and we had great conversations! :) The flat is very well located 15 minutes walk from any sightseeing. There is a lot of space and everything you need in the bedroom. Breakfast is just great with lots of fruits, we couldn't expect more. We will warmly recommend his flat to anyone who wish to visit Edinburgh!!

Hi there
I’m originally from Oxford, and have been living in Edinburgh for the past 8 years. I love my work as a documentary filmmaker, and it certainly keeps me busy. When I’m not working I like to travel and go on wee adventures myself..! My favourite trips have been, amongst others, Vancouver, Buenos Aires, and also the Western Isles here in Bonnie Scotland..! I also love running and hiking, and there are plenty of lovely places to do that here in Edinburgh and its surroundings ; )
