Where you’ll be

Caldbeck, England, United Kingdom

High Greenrigg House and Brae Fell cottage are located in a quiet and peaceful area in the North Western corner of the Lake District National Park. This is a World Heritage site. Our nearest neighbour is 400m away. We are surrounded by a common and fields where sheep and cattle graze. We are also less than an hour away from another World Heritage Site: Hadrian's Wall. We have direct access to the Northern Fells. A short walk down a very quiet lane brings you to the bottom of Brae Fell and access to some 23 'Wainright' summits without a single road to cross. The nearest village is Caldbeck which has a village shop, two tea rooms and several craft/wool shops. The famous huntsman John Peel is buried in the churchyard. There are four larger towns just half an hour away where full services and facilities can be found: Cockermouth, Carlisle, Keswick and Penrith.
