Welcome to Morile Mhor Cottage, built in 1910 and located in the village of Tomatin in the Scottish Highlands. Tomatin is within easy reach of both Inverness and Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park.

The cottage sleeps up to six guests and there is also a separate annex located directly behind (listed as Morile Mhor Annex). These can be booked separately or together (to accommodate up to ten guests).

The space
The house boasts a spacious conservatory with spectacular views over the adjoining countryside, as well as a cosy living/dining room with a wood burner. There is a newly renovated kitchen with a good level of appliances, and also a ground floor bathroom.
On the first floor is a large bedroom with a kingsize bed and a sofa bed and a further bedroom with two single beds, as well as a separate WC.
There is a large, enclosed garden which is a perfect haven for children to play.

Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.

Initial logs for wood burner included in the winter months. Travel cot and highchair available on request.

Neighbourhood highlights

Tomatin is a small, rural village which is just 15 miles south of Inverness, the Highland capital. The village plays host to the world renowned Tomatin Distillery, where you can sample whisky in the visitor centre and take a tour of the facilities. There is a thriving local community centre with many activities throughout the year. From the cottage you can visit many historic attractions that this lovely area has to offer, including Culloden Battlefield and Fort George, as well as Cawdor and Brodie castles, to name but a few. Take a visit to Drumnadrochit, a good monster spotting location, or take a boat ride along Loch Ness. A trip along the Moray coastline, taking in the small fishing villages and the opportunity to see the Moray Firth bottlenose dolphins is really worthwhile. You could also take a ride along the Moray Malt Whisky Trail, the only one of its kind in the world.
Just south of Tomatin are the Cairngorm National Park and the town of Grantown-on-Spey, and 15 miles south is the bustling town of Aviemore which are all well worth a visit. The Findhorn Valley, in Tomatin, is famous for its wild birds and bird spotting activities all year round. Skiing and snowboarding, as well as mountain biking, zip lining and kayaking, are all available in the Cairngorm National Park. You will also find a range of good golf courses within easy reach, including the world renowned Castle Stuart course. The less energetic can sit back, relax and unwind in this truly lovely unique property, where many happy memories are sure to be made. Shop and café/restaurant 500 yards, pub and restaurant 7 miles.
