Pros: the proximity to the tube and quick commute to central London and the coffee shop next door (killer breakfast). Cons: everything else. We chose this place as our home for a month and a half while we were between house. Within a week the washer/dryer broke (which was the principal reason for choosing this place) and the technician somehow broke it even further so it was unusable for our entire stay. No efforts were made to fix or replace it. We did get reimbursed for costs spent on laundry, but then needed to deal with having laundry picked up and delivered instead of doing it at our convenience. We weren't given a spare set of sheets and with no washing machine changing the sheets was a hassle. When we asked for extra sheets we were given a sheet that was stained and a duvet cover that had holes in it. There's a fish tank that isn't mentioned that we needed to take care of that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a few years. One day it got extremely cloudy and the fish started dying. We told Bart ASAP and he didn't attempt to come fix it until the next evening at an inconvenient 8pm on a Sunday. We asked him to come back the next day when we would be out of the house and he showed up an hour early. Why ask what time to come by if it will be disregarded. During these 2 days we had to live with the stench of a dirty fish tank and dead fish, literally. The bedroom faces a main road so you can never properly open the window and is not good for light sleepers. There is a family of elephants upstairs unaware that this is an occupied flat. The first week the washing machine broke the toilet also broke, so every time it was flushed it would make a loud noise and literally vibrate the whole apartment, to the extent that the glasses in the kitchen at the opposite end of the flat would clink. We raised this issue and were told in a condescending way that buildings and plumbing in London are old and these things happen (even though we've stayed in dozens of holiday apartments throughout Europe and the states with never any issues). If the faulty plumbing is a known issue, why not disclose it in advance? The list can go on and on, and I'm not going to go in to the paper thin walls so it feels like you're permanently stuck in the cafe next door, or the patch right outside the bedroom where all of Islington leaves their trash and hangs out like a public park.

Response from Bart:
Hi Scot, Thank you for you review. All issues you were talking about were being addressed quickly. You were ok with fish tank when I checked you in and you said you had fish too. When algae 'exploded' I came same day and cleaned it and replaced water. Flat was cleaned for you 2 times during the dtay even though as host I only charge you one cleaning fee that covers cleaning after you. I sent clean linen at your reauest too. I covered cleaning delivery service for your clothes when machine broke after being overloaded... Good luck with your future rentals and remember about value to price ratio. I have very good reviews for the flat apart from yours...

Bart was super friendly and a great host. We easily scheduled my check in and he answered my questions mid-stay right away. The apartment was warm and cozy, very quick to the tube, groceries, and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

Love this place. It's really great value especially since it's pretty close to public transportation. Though Tube stations and the main road can be really congested on peak hours so plan your journey accordingly. It happened to us two times when one of the station is closed due to overcrowding and buses/taxis are not really that great on peak times either since it's a two lane road with several red lights. Other than that, the flat itself is great, clean, and pictures are accurate. Bart, the host, is only a phone call/messaging away and really helpful. Nearby Vietnamese pho is really good and opens till late when you need something hot on a cold winter day. Also, cafe next door sells awesome breakfast. Some concerns people might have, walls are thin, so you can hear footsteps on night and morning, but nothing really distracting since its just for couple minutes.
