Where to start. The owner or the apartment? Owner. Basically he's the kind of owner you always want to find on AirBnB. Kind, caring, helpful, and quick to respond. Absolute star! Apartment. Great! It's spacious, amazing views, tastefully decorated, natural light is awesome, and the building it's in has various swimming pools (one heated), a sauna, gym, 2 X parking spaces. It's just perfect and literally 20 seconds from your own secluded beach. You'll love it!!
This apartment in El Canelillo is on the 8th floor with a spectacular view. The grounds are beautiful and has 4 good size swimming pools. This was my first experience with Airbnb and Danny was always in communication with me during our stay. This apartment is everything it claims to be in the pictures and in the description of the property.
Beautiful and stunning ocean and beach views from airy and spacious apartment. Very restful setting with comfortable beds and ample kitchen supplies. We loved hearing the ocean and birds from our space. Lovely cove and beach just below the apartment reinforced you were in a very special place. Great and easy nature trail across the cove. Several restaurants and shops are close by which one could walk to, though we opted to drive. Danny was attentive to our needs, although his house keeper was slow to respond when we alerted him that we were missing our bath and hand towels. Aside from that hiccup, we enjoyed our stay very much.
Danny, the owner, was our host, and we couldn't have asked for a better match! We had the chance to meet Danny in the apartment when we arrived, and he was so welcoming, kind, and accommodating. We entered a clean, spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchen in terms of appliances including a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. The large sliding glass windows (almost ceiling to floor) in the master bedroom, living room, and enclosed balcony gave way to beautiful vistas of flora and fauna. The description of the apartment was not only accurate, but the view from the balcony was stunning! It was a place every night where we opened the large sliding windows allowing the lull of a cool breeze to enter, view the sunset against the ocean waves with tall pine trees and palm trees existing together, and gathered our thoughts from the day's activities coupled with delicious Chilean wine and/or Pisco and cokes. Danny spoke fluent English in a vacation spot where most visitors were Spanish speaking. My niece was much more fluent in Spanish than me, but it was a comfort to ask Danny for advice in English. He helped us in every way possible, from suggestions of how to travel in the area, what kind of costs to expect, where to take nice hikes, or what restaurants to visit. He always returned our messages with suggestions and well wishes. Being from the United States, we were defensive about things like drinking water, what fresh fruits or vegetables to avoid, or heaven forbid, how to lather ourselves with spray so that we wouldn't contract the Zika virus. Everything from the local markets were fresh and delicious, and drinking water from the tap became the norm. The only bugs we saw were yellow jackets attracted to the beautiful flowered gardens near the pools and pathways. This was my first and only experience, so far, with Airbnb. I may never encounter this part of the world again, or communicate with Danny as a host/guest connection, but in the week that we stayed at his apartment, I felt that I was simply staying at a friend's home with the ease and comfort I would feel in my own house with no strings attached. My vacation was a wonderful experience without the high cost of hotels, and thanks to Danny as a superb host, I may never book a hotel room again!
Response from Danny:
Woooh!!! Thank youuuuuuuu Maria. I appreciate immensely the fantastic comments you provided of my place. I really hope you enjoyed your vacation in Chile and you come back again. Thank you for the suggestions. I´m buying a blender this weekend and a bed for the second bedroom because I don ´t like the current bed. And will make sure to improved the wasthing of the towels and bed clothes. You have a great weekend!!!
The apartment has a beautiful view and is pretty much as described. We did not find that it was as clean as we would have liked, but it was not filthy. There was a misunderstanding over sheets and towels - the listing indicates that they are included, but we were chastised for using a key to retrieve sheets and towels from a locked closet. The cleaner claimed that we stole a tool kit and damaged a lock - not true in either case. In the end, the owner straightened everything out, but just make sure that you clarify the understanding around sheets and towels. The kitchen could be better equipped, but we managed to cook everything we needed. We couldn't locate a spatula so bought one and left it there. Overall a pretty decent place, but the accusations left a bad taste in our mouth.
