My boyfriend and I stayed at Playa Canek for four nights and it was absolutely fabulous. It's very much a quiet Eco hotel, but this is what we wanted. I hate the behemoth resorts destroying the environment of Cancun. Playa Canek staff roped off a bit of its section of the beach for the mama turtles who lay their eggs. Their very serious about the environment and we loved that. They also have comfy lounge chairs and a fab bar right on the beach with Jose and Silvia whipping up the best (I kid you not), the BEST piña coladas of my life. Carlo runs place, but he's always found at the restaurant, recommending their homemade juices and delicious food. Just so you know, we didn't mind at all, but the tap water is slightly salt water. Not like straight up ocean water but it is salty. This goes with the Eco vine though. Aside from the features of Playa Canek, the location of the hotel is great too. You can walk down the road or down the beach to find yummy restaurants at all the surrounding hotels of Tulum. we rented bikes from Carlo for $10 each for the whole day and cycled to the Mayan ruins and Gran Cenote. Amazing adventure! Definitely stay at Playa Canek! It's one of my favourite hotels I've ever stayed at in my life. My parents are even thinking of copying our trip!

I've had the opportunity to stay in Tulum a few times. This was the best service and location to date. I had such an amazing stay. Extremely close to great food and instant access to the beach. Just a wonderful experience.

This place is fantastic - exactly as shown. We were glad to stay on this part of the Tulum beach road as we could walk to everything from here - Hartwood, Raw Love cafe, and Origama for coffee/ice cream became the quick favorites. We also walked along the beach the other direction to Nomade for breakfast. This portion of the beach road is very dense which is what we were looking for - great value and terrific place to call home in Tulum for a few days.

Loved the room, amazing view, sheltered even though right on the beach. Cleaned every day on request. Lovely staff. No frills, yet quite pampered! FYI you do not need more than a bikini!! Sylvia at the beach bar was just gorgeous & Pal, the hotel manager was such a gentleman! They made the experience for us.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Playa Canek with my wife. Amazing location & very attentive and friendly staff. They were remodeling during our stay and the first night we had a couple of quirks, but they definitely made it up to us by providing us a delicious breakfast on the house. We can't wait to come back! Tulum rocks!
