This beautifully renovated Stable House with underfloor heating has everything you need for a relaxing weekend break or longer stay. With its large kitchen/dining area, lounge and outdoor patio garden it comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. Set within woodland and surrounded by fields with walking access to the River Derwent and the Derwent Walk it also has easy road and public transport access to fantastic attractions for all the family in Northumberland, Newcastle and County Durham.

The space
One of 4 dwellings on a former 18th century farm, the stylish Stable House boasts a large fully-equipped kitchen dining room leading to the patio for alfresco dining and a garden for relaxing and play.
The south-facing lounge with its 5m span of glazed windows and sliding door offer spectacular views through the courtyard to the woodland of the National Trust estate.
For a good nights sleep, the House offers a very large ensuite master bedroom styled with oak furniture and kingsize bed, a second bedroom with super kingsize bed and Harris mattresses (which can be separated into twin) and a third bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. All beds prepared with quality duvets, pillows and cotton linens.
Bedrooms 2 & 3 share the second bathroom with L-shaped bath & shower. The utility room houses the washing machine, separate dryer, indoor washing line, hoover, ironing board with iron and storage cupboards.
This thoughtfully styled Stable House and garden has spectacular views of National Trust Gibside with wild swimming, fishing, cycleways and endless walks just beyond the gate.

Guest access
Just off the A1 along the A696 the Stable House is 2 miles to the local Village, 8 miles to Newcastle, 15 miles to Durham, 17 miles to the Sea, 17 miles to Hexham, 90 to Keswick and 120 miles to Edinburgh. Closer to home we are 200m from the Derwent River, next to the Derwent Walk and the C2C cycle route. The River is perfect for wild swimming and fly-fishing (day permits available). The surrounding countryside has many beauty spots for walking, running, cycling and swimming. Within walking distance the village has a cafe, small Tesco’s and Boots, a hairdresser, beautician, florist, newsagent, fish & chip shop and micro pub. A short walk along the Derwent Walk brings you to the Derwent Park with playing fields, riverside picnic areas and kids playgrounds. The expansive grounds of National Trust Gibside offers a tea shop and programme of events/activities throughout the year. In addition to a number of National Trust properties within easy reach there is the amazing Beamish Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Reservoir & Observatory which is a designated Dark Sky and the famed Castles along the Northumbrian coastal route - all making for enjoyable days out.

Other things to note
IN THE HOUSE: we ask guests to please remove their shoes upon entry to the house.
PETS: a well-behaved pet is welcome although they are not allowed on the furniture. There is an additional pet and this should be discussed prior to arrival with the Host.
The Stable House westerly garden is fenced but you may see one or two roaming chickens from time to time. Pets must be kept on a lead while in the shared areas of the farm as we have free ranging chickens, ducks, a cockerpoo and cat.
QUIET TIMES: between 10.00pm - 8am
NO PARTIES allowed unless booking includes Cottage and Railway Carriage.
NO loud stag or hen parties to minimise disturbance of other guests staying at the Farm.
EV charger is available at a separate cost.
