A large thatched cottage, parts of which date back 400 yrs, Dynes Cottage is in a complex of 3 houses & surrounded by beautiful fields & country walks. With a private outdoor courtyard & a beautiful orchard, you can relax with the whole family.

The cottage is just 1/2 a mile from beautiful Finchingfield, one of the prettiest villages in the country, & which boasts a number of excellent pubs & tea rooms.

The cottage is hosted by Cath, Al & their family, who live in an adjacent house on site.

The space
Dynes Cottage is a large thatched cottage set on a small complex with two other residential properties. The complex is owned by Cath & Al and is just half a mile along a very quiet country lane from the beautiful and quaint village of Finchingfield, with its pubs, antique shops and tea rooms.

The site is very peaceful and surrounded by fields. The front aspect of the cottage looks out over fields and boasts beautiful sunset views.

There is plenty of parking onsite and the cottage has a large private outdoor courtyard with an outdoor dining area. The Cottage also benefits from use of a beautiful orchard with apple, plum and pear trees. The orchard also has a large climbing frame with a slide, monkey cars and swings for your little ones to enjoy!

The cottage has a large, recently renovated, kitchen with seating for 10/11 people. There are 3 additional living areas, including a lounge with an open fire and 400 year old beams, a games-room with a football table and playstation, and a dramatic dining room which seats 8.

The cottage has two separate staircases with two bedrooms up each one. The fifth bedroom is downstairs and can be treated as ensuite if required. There is a small additional 6th 'secret bedroom' which has a full sized single bed, but which can only be accessed from Bedroom 4 via a reduced size door. It is perfect for a child or a small adult who doesn't mind squeezing through the doorway! If this room is used then the cottage can sleep 10 plus one additional guest.

We do welcome dogs, but only if they are friendly with other dogs and children as we have our own dog, Maggie, on site. We'd ask that all dog mess is picked up and all muddy paws are cleaned!

The cottage is surrounded by fields with a large selection of beautiful off-road walks. Finchingfield was part of the Tour De France route in 2014 and the country lanes provide miles of picturesque road cycling routes. Cath & Al are both keen walkers and cyclists and can provide routes if requested.

Please be aware that the cottage is on a septic tank, so no wet wipes or sanitary products may be flushed.
