The space

Luxury apartment furnished to highest specifications, located on the most exclusive stretch of the Sliema Promenade with the sparkling Mediterranean across the road perfect for an early morning dip. Here, on your very doorstep, you can swim and sunbathe, walk or stroll, jog or bike ride. Children are happily catered for in 2 different playgrounds. Delight in a cappuccino, snack, lunch or dinner at any of the innumerable cafes and restaurants on the strip. Every amenity is within walking distance - seaside, lido, water polo clubs, cafes, restaurants, newsagency, banks, shopping; casino and night clubs across the bay in Paceville. Proximity to everything and yet on the quiet residential side of Sliema.

This apartment , inside, only has side sea views from the balcony. However once outside the apartment, the front door is on the Sliema Promenade with its beautiful panoramic views across the bay to St Julians, the major hotels and the Casino. The Exiles Lido offers sunbeds and umbrellas at a minimal cost and one can swim in the beautifully clear water off the rocks just outside the apartment. Or you can stroll along the Promenade of an evening or morning and enjoy the cafes and restaurants along the Sliema Front from St Julians to the Ferries and beyond to the Yacht Marina. In spring, autumn and winter months one can enjoy sitting on a bench on the Promenade or down below in the Independence Gardens enjoying the warmth of the beautiful sunshine or in the summer months sunbathing or swimming off the rocks below by the seaside.

This large (180sq m) bright and airy 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment is furnished throughout in European beech with luxurious fixtures and fittings. Quality features include art works; porcelain tiles throughout the apartment and bathroom; solid wood European beech featured in doors, furniture and kitchen; marble and granite counter tops in kitchen and main bathroom; double glazed windows and fly screens throughout; thermal block out curtains; electric blankets; smoke detectors; reverse cycle Daikin airconditioners; hair dryer, heated towel rails, extractor fans and heating in bathrooms; washer, dryer, audio and video equipment as well as free WiFi. Maid service is provided once a fortnight for longer stays of over a month at no extra cost.

Accommodation comprises a queen size double bed with extra luxurious latex pillow top in the master bedroom, reverse cycle airconditioning and ensuite bathroom and spacious twin single bedroom with ceiling fan and balcony. An additional folding single bed is also available for children as well as a full size automatic inflation queen bed. Soft furnishings are insulated with thermal blockout. The large main bathroom has a bath with hand shower plus a separate shower enclosed in its own cubicle; combined lighting, powerful heating and extraction fan equipment; washer and dryer facilities and heated towel rails.

The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is serviced with a powerful reverse cycle airconditioner that cools the whole apartment. An additional dehumidifier regulates the temperatures constantly. It is equipped with all facilities, TV, DVD, stereo system and free WiFi. The gourmet kitchen has granite counter tops and all modern amenities and appliances. It is fully equipped for entertaining. A balcony runs along the lounge room and bedroom providing only side sea views and ventilation.

Guest access

This is a home away from home for our guests and we hope they will feel that way about the accommodation. The inventory has been carefully thought out to provide all necessaries to make life as comfortable and as close to 'home' as possible. All the amenities are available for their use.

Interaction with guests

On arrival into Malta we can organise a taxi to meet our guests at the airport and bring them to the apartment. Upon arrival at the apartment, our guests will be met personally and shown around, instructed re use of appliances and informed of all the amenities in the vicinity. I and my sisters are always available in case the guests have any queries during their stay to ensure all is to their satisfaction and to answer any questions they might have re sightseeing, tours, car hire and any other facilities they require. A great holiday for them is our prime concern.

Other things to note

Please be considerate in your use of water and electricity. There is a 67% surcharge charged on water and electricity consumption which has not been passed on to you as tenants. Other apartment owners charge in excess for water and electricity, we do not. Therefore please do not leave any lights on unnecessarily. Kindly make sure all airconditioners, all appliances and all lighting is turned off before you go out. Your attention to this is greatly appreciated.

Please leave the apartment in a clean condition before you vacate.

In the case of monthly rentals, electricity will be charged at Euro0.16 cents per unit. Water and all rates and tax is included in the price. WiFi internet is free.

House Rules

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the whole of Level 5. That includes inside the apartment, outside on balconies or the common areas of the apartment block. It presents a health and fire hazard. Guests are invited to go to the Promenade outside if they wish to smoke.

These are residential apartments and excessive noise is very inconsiderate. Guests are kindly requested to keep volume to a minimum so as not to disturb the neighbours.

Marylene's place is amazing in terms of location, space and cleanliness, but I would advise not to stay there if you're looking for high-speed Internet! It is perfect for people looking for non-connected vacations.

I never had any problems with all my past guests about the internet. It is a standard household internet and is only extended to extend and enhance the internet in Level 5, which on the other floors is one apartment per level. Unfortunately the guests needed a business speed setup to run their numerous devices for a home office. Sadly they tampered with the modems and lost all the settings so that my internet was not visible any more because they changed the names. To their credit they set it up again as it had been so we have normal household internet. Thank you for doing that. I appreciate it.

This house is the best!!! My friends and I stayed in the house for a week, we were 5 and everyone had its own space. Marylene, the host, is awesome! Very helpful and kind. We didn't have any problem with the house, just follow her suggestions, be respectful and your vacation in Malta will be great! The buses stop just outside of the apartment. There is a garage to park bicycles if you want. If I'll have the chance to go back to Malta I'll definitely contact Marylene first.

We loved staying here. Very spacious appartment in a lively neighbourhoud. In the appartmnet itself you don't hear any of the noice of the street :-) and it is very peaceful. Busstop right at the doorstep; so is the divecenter Divesystems (only 3 minutes walk!) and groceryshops. Very good delishop at the corner!

I must honestly say that Marylene has been, by far, the best host we ever had! With communication, recommendations, preparation for our arrival. Without us asking she asked if she could help with transfer from the airport. We mentioned that my old father and my son (2 years old) would join. Marylene made sure there were toys for him. For my father who is slightly crippled she arranged so we could enter the building through a ramp in the garage. We had trouble with my mothers return ticket so my parents had to stay another two days. Marylene offered them to stay the extra nights without hesitating and to no extra charge. Highest score on everything. The only thing we could have wished for was a larger balcony to eat breakfast on...

Very nice luxury apartment. Location was excellent and convenient for everything. The apartment was beautifully clean and well furnished. My family and I all enjoyed staying here. Marylene left us some Japanese food and looked after us very well. I would recommend this apartment to everyone.
