The apartment is part of a traditional 19th century listed building conveniently located in the heart of Penrith Market town. Parking for your car is less than 20metres. The bus station is 350metres and the train station is only 400 metres.

The apartment is located on the top floor with only the roof tops of the adjacent buildings as neighbours. Windows are South facing. The studio is stylish and equipped modern but with hints of its 1860 origins.

Other things to note
The listing includes 2x SUPs (with essential safety equipment) and 2x mountain bikes (with essential equipment). Guests with previous experience in paddle boarding and mountain biking are welcome to use this equipment. There is no additional cost, but a deposit is required against loss, malicious damage or theft.

Please know that the apartment is designed as more than simply a place to sleep. Penrith is a lovely little town on the edge of the Lake District, and the apartment is a base to have the best of short breaks. Your two Cannondale Trail 6 mountain bikes can take you to one of many amazing locations within peddling distance of the apartment. A ride out to Lowther Castle through their well kept and picturesque grounds for takeaway coffee at the castle cafeteria before a return journey up and over Askham fell to view lake Ullswater is very popular.
A short hike up to the Beacon with a blanket, wine and packed food to get a proper view of penrith and the distant fells(mountains) is very popular. Perfect for the afternoon.
The two Stand Up Paddleboards come in convenient back packs. They can be taken on public transport or taken in your car to lake Ulswater. Otherwise, where the river is not moving (typically between July and October) you can walk to one of the secluded sections of The River Eamont or River Eden(just a short walk from the apartment). Ideal for brushing up on your SUP skills.

Your neighbours are: (1) the Alhambra/Regent cinema: an amazing traditional cinema showing all the new releases since 1933,
(2) The Lounge bar and restaurant: easily the nicest place for food and drinks,
(3) The George hotel: perfect for afternoon tea with the option of sitting indoors or outdoors,
(4) Cranston’s Butchers: A traditional butcher with the best of foods in case you plan to cook in the apartment,
and
(5) The Raj: for amazing Indian food (takeaway or eat in).
You are also just a short walk from a Marks and Spencers food hall, A Wetherspoons (particularly good for their cheap and cheerful breakfast menu), A Spar shop (handy for later night shopping) and off licence alcohol.

All within a couple hundred metres of the listing.

I am available 24 hours a day via phone. I have an extensive knowledge of the area and I will be happy to help organise your time in the lakes. I visit the apartment building most days for the upkeep of the building, to clean communal areas, to service the mountain bikes, to service the SUP equipment and to ensure that the alleyway is kept clean. I may invite you to cycle with me or paddle the river where I have spare time. Otherwise, please do not hesitate to enquire if I’m available to join you on your ride out or paddle.
