Charming 'rustic' cottage perfect for groups and families. Two sitting rooms (+ wood burner), and bedrooms with room for 1-2 extra bodies if needed. Beautiful hill views, walks, woods and stream. Bowhill Adventure Park and pub within 2 miles!

The space

While our house is advertised for six people (two double bedrooms with a third with two single beds), the house is deceptively spacious and can accommodate, comfortably 8, making it ideal for walking groups or a couple of families wanting to escape together. With the woods and stream outback the location makes for a perfect place for kids to explore, whatever the weather. We were there over Christmas this year and the children were rarely inside!

Guest access

The house has its own, fenced garden and shed in which to store a few bikes. There's a well-stocked supply of logs provided for the wood burner too. The house and garden are for your exclusive use.

Interaction with guests

We live overseas and so don't have as many opportunities as we would like to return to the house. However, we will be organizing for someone to meet you on arrival. We would also encourage you to email us during your stay to let us know what you think and, if you feel we need to make any changes for later guests to let us know

Other things to note

Our house is home to a healthy pipistrelle bat colony and so, on summer evenings there's nothing better to do than to sit outside with a drink and watch them flying off and around the woods. Also look out for the tawny and other owls that live behind the house.

House Rules

We do allow pets, though as the house is newly carpeted, we would be grateful if you would respect the furnishings and encourage dogs to stay in the kitchen and back room, both of which are hard-floored. Please keep outdoor boots for outdoor use so the house stays clean and cozy. We would ask if you want to smoke please do so outside. While you won't have to share the house with anyone else, there is one adjoining house and so would ask that you just respect their privacy and desire to enjoy the quiet of the countryside too!

The cottage is beautiful and in a stunning location! Far more space than the pictures suggest and the communication with the owners was incredibly prompt and efficient. We look forward to coming back but for a longer stay!

We had a fantastic stay in Inner Huntly. The house was wonderful - very warm and cosy and a lovely place to retreat to. The woods and stream at the back of the house are great to explore and the house has everything you need. The area is very pretty and peaceful and we enjoyed some good walks and mountain bike rides.

Beautiful location, ideal for going walking. Lots of space inside the house and can imagine it would be really fun for children to play. Very warm and cosy. Great communication from hosts and host's parents all the way through.

This house is wonderfully cosy and quirky, it's extremely comfortable and a real home from home. Our children loved staying here and there was a huge array of toys and board games at their disposal which was a massive plus as anyone travelling with children will know how much of a pain taking dozens of toys away with you can be. There is a spacious garden to sit out in and behind the house is a wooded area and stream which is great fun to explore. The beds were comfy, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and crockery, loads of spare linen for the bedrooms and towels if needed. It really was the perfect place for us, our dog loved it too! We'd love to go back one day, the area is lovely for a much needed getaway from the hustle and bustle of every day life :) Jamie the host was lovely ahead of our trip and very helpful!
