Near outstanding outdoor activities, wildlife centres, country houses, steam railways, gourmet food/ restaurants. It is the perfect spot to explore the Welsh Borders, an area of truly outstanding natural beauty.
The space
Heather Cottage is a detached mid-century bungalow recently renovated in 2021 to a high standard. Uniquely located in its own tranquil walled garden, tucked away up a private lane, with its own parking on the drive, but only two minutes walk into the middle of Presteigne.
All rooms are conveniently located on one floor. There is a fully equipped Shaker kitchen with adjoining dining area in conservatory; bathroom in an Edwardian style with on-demand tropical shower and bath; two good-sized double bedrooms with comfortable beds and fine rugs; bright and relaxing lounge.
The lounge is very comfortable with two soft leather sofas and a 55inch 4k TV with a soundbar with Sky and Netflix connected and good wifi. There are books, games, guide books and OS maps.
The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to make lovely dinners and enjoy them in the separate conservatory dining room. There is a full-size fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, ceramic hob, inbuilt double oven and grill. The washer-dryer is also located in the kitchen.
The bedrooms are well furnished. One has Jane Churchill drapes, a John Lewis flower rug, a solid oak sleigh double bed, pretty bedside tables with silk shade porcelain lamps, large mirror and a double wardrobe.
The other bedroom features an Adrian Reynolds Destiny double bed, oak Cotswold side tables, side lights with silk shades, a stunning azure blue oriental rug and gold raw silk curtains. There is a lovely upcycled chest of drawers and a full size mirror.
One of the sofas in the lounge can be turned into a sofabed that sleeps two. Just like for all the beds, this will be made up for you if you require it.
Gas central heating. Insulated, high-quality curtains keep the light out on summer dawns and keep it warm and snug in the winter. Fine Rugs and cushions.
Heather Cottage has been furnished as you would expect a home to be, rather than the basic standards of a holiday let, so you can have a break of real comfort and relaxation.
Outside you can enjoy the walled garden with its Moorish-themed summer house, outdoor dining table, chairs and BBQ. A quiet place to unwind with a coffee and book in the morning sun or to talk over dinner until dark. There is a little garden at the rear of the bungalow too where you can listen to the birds.
Included in rental is wifi, electricity, gas central heating with instant hot water and a power shower, linen, bath towels and full Covid-secure cleaning before and after your stay.
COVID-19 “WE’RE GOOD TO GO”
We have acquired the “We’re good to go” Industry Standard mark for following government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and having a process in place to maintain cleanliness.
Full end cleaning between stays. Professional cleaner wearing PPE. Two-step enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocol. Please note, changeovers are only possible on Saturdays and check-in is strictly not before 3pm and check-out must be by 10am. Self-check-in and check-out through key safe. Provision of handwash and hand sanitiser.
Our cancellation policy is ‘strict’ but if you need to move your stay due to Covid-19, for example, because you have to self-isolate and therefore stay home or because you or someone in your family has fallen ill with Covid-like symptoms, we will happily move your booking to a later time without charging you a penalty.
