Whether you're staying a few days, a few weeks, or month-by-month, this is where you want to be! This apartment is located in the heart of downtown. You are within walking distance to plenty of great restaurants, bars, concert venues, and sporting events. WE CAN ACCOMMODATE BUSINESS TRAVELERS REQUIRING LONGER STAYS.

The space
The Briggs Houze is a historic building originally built in 1937. It was renovated in the late 2010s. Some of the original architectural structure and elements run throughout the apartments of the Briggs Houze. Nowhere is this original beauty preserved so authentically as in the tub and bathroom tile work. As a result, you'll find in this apartment the new and modern combined with touches of the original and historic.

As a historic building, you'll find that the bathrooms are small compared to those of modern architectural design. However, we find, as do most of our guests, that this lends to the charm and authenticity of the historic nature of the building.

Previously this apartment was 307, which was adjacent to a nightclub. In the past this had caused noise issues for some guests, as have been mentioned in some of the reviews. This has now been remedied by moving to 1702! And as an added bonus, this apartment now has a great view of the city!

We periodically update and replace furniture and/or decor, but are not always able to have the listing rephotographed each such time. Therefore, some, most, or all of the furniture in the apartment may be different (newer) than that pictured in the listing.

Guest access
Guests will have parking pass to gated parking for one vehicle. (For additional vehicles, there are paid parking lots nearby and paid street parking.) Guests will also have access to the gym and the common/lounge area.

Other things to note
Ask about our monthly rates.

Please be aware our cancellation policy is set to strict. We cannot issue refunds for weather related travel issues (amongst other things).

As noted previously, this is a historic building. The tub and tile work in the bathrooms and some other elements in the apartment are original to the building. As such, although the apartment is professionally cleaned in between reservations, these elements of the apartment cannot be made to look bright and shiny new. Additionally, as a historic building, the bathrooms are smaller than those in modern buildings.

Please be aware that in the state of Michigan, both medical and recreational use of Cannabis is legal. Although REST ASSURED'S ROOMS ARE STRICTLY NON-SMOKING, please be aware that occasionally you may smell the scent cannabis coming from other apartments of the Briggs Houze. This is beyond our control as your host.

From the Briggs Houze management regarding Heat and A/C:

". . . to inform you on your Heating and Cooling units. We will be keeping thermostats in Heating Mode until we reach an average low of >50F. There is no automatic changeover so heating and cooling must be done manually by Maintenance.

"If you have a Master Thermostat in your unit, we ask that you please do not switch your Thermostat into Cooling until instructed by Maintenance. This will disrupt communication to all units in your group. And will not allow any Heating or Cooling to be supplied. At NO TIME should tenants turn unit off by the switch located above the Wall Mounted Units. Please use thermostat.

"If It is getting hotter than you would like, simply turn your thermostat off and enjoy some fresh air."

As a historic building, the size of the hot water tanks that were able to be installed during the remodel are smaller in size than a traditional hot water heater that you would find in a home for example. Therefore, please be judicious with your hot water usage so that all guests staying on your reservation can enjoy a hot shower. This is especially important if your guest count is 3 or 4 people.

Per the rules that the Briggs Houze makes us, your Hosts, follow, you will be required to provide us with the following information as a condition of your stay:

1.) a list of first and last names of all adults staying on the reservation.

2.) the phone number and the email address of the reservation holder, which will be you.

3.) the vehicle information of the reservation holder, in the following format:
-color, make, model
-license plate number, state

Example:
Black Toyota RAV4
XFG 153, Michigan
Thank you.

4.) Pictures of front side of photo IDs of all adults on the reservation.
