Are you looking for a fantastic holiday to spend at the beach, a place to stay while visiting family, or a relocation? We rent this home to caring guests on a monthly basis.
Our house is a perfect landing spot located in Hermosa Beach, California. Just steps from the main drag "Pier Avenue", two blocks to the main beach area, and an easy walk to major super markets- this place is heaven! Hermosa Beach is known for its beaches, surfing, volleyball, bike rides and lively night scene. It is an active town with tons of families, singles, and retirees all enjoying life at the beach. Hermosa Beach sits 2 miles north of Redondo Beach and 2 miles south of Manhattan Beach.
The house is brand new completed in early 2012. It is a 4 level house and includes a roof top deck with a fireplace. Ocean views are fantastic from the third level and roof top. The house is a modern contemporary style home with African mahogany on the outside and mahogany accenting the inside stairs, floors, and ceilings. A three story wall of terrazzo that brings the organic aspects of the beach inside. Glass railings and doors along with a glass bathroom add to the character of the home. The 3rd level kitchen and hang out area has a unique martini apple green eating center island bar/table that seats 5 comfortably. A rooftop deck with fireplace make an evening at the beach fun and relaxing as you watch the sunsets.
We spent a great deal of thought and time trying to build this house an environmentally friendly house and energy efficient. All of the appliances are energy efficient and stainless steel, endless water heater, and Kohler bath fixtures are water efficient.
The decor is mid century modern and used from the 50's, 60's, and early 70's. Milo Baughman, Verner Panton, Herman Miller, George Nelson, B&B Italia, Case Study, DWR, are some of the MCM names that decorate/furnish this fun beach house. The furnishings are very fun but designer and expensive and because of that we do vet our guests as we need guests who live a conscientious life-style as we choose to keep it furnished in this design style. **If children will be staying we will remove some of the designer pieces as they cost more than the deposit allows.
The home is set up with three bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with a twin bed on the 2nd level. In the small bedroom there is a twin bed and desk but no closet. There are 3.5 bathrooms including a jet jacuzzi tub and steam shower. We feel the house is best suited for no more than 3 or 4 guests. And we will not accept any situation where guests outnumber the 3 beds.
House has 2 HD TVs and a Blu Ray player, steam shower, jacuzzi jet tub, cable, outdoor fireplace, internet, weekly cleaning. The location is a "10". The beach is a "10".
We will make room for two cars to park which is really the bonus of the location since parking at the beach is a real commodity! Again, all restaurants, bars, coffee, ice cream parlors, nail salons, bike rentals, surf board rentals, supermarkets, beach are ALL within short distances from 1/2 a block to 4 blocks. The house is near enough to the main Pier strip of bars and restaurants but far enough to avoid the noise. Manhattan Beach is approximately 2 miles north to Manhattan Beach Pier and Redondo Beach Pier is approximately 2 miles south. the 405 Freeway is about a 20-30 minute surface street commute. Major big retail shopping can be found in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, and El Segundo.
Taxi ride to/from LAX are approximately $40 and 25 minutes and Uber is $13. There is public transportation down the street and bus schedules can be obtained at the library two blocks from the house.
This is our primary home and a very special place so please make sure you tell us about yourself and who would be staying in our home. Interaction with guests
Typically we will meet the guest on their arrival and get them settled & go through the house book together, review lease terms, answer all questions and then we will be available with contact by phone or email. We leave the house set up so the guest feels like it is their home for the entire stay- we remove all personal effects from the inside of the home and leave all amenities needed for an enjoyable stay. Again, this IS our primary home and we ask that guests respect the home as if it were their own.

No guest groups over 4 people. All overnight guests pre-approved by hosts.
NO subletting of any kind. A personal meaningful relationship with all guests must exist.
No parties that would disrupt a family neighborhood
Host uses CA 29 night/30 day lease for all stays
No smoking anything, any where on property. Violation will forfeit security deposit and could terminate lease.
No more than 4 guests and 1 car will be accepted for lease term.
*Visiting overnight guests not on the reservation need to be discussed with hosts in advance- we are very strict about this.
10 PM is "take it to the bar" time- any noise violation associated with the Hermosa Beach police will result in immediate termination of lease.
Professional cleaning does not do dishes or laundry. We ask that the guest preps the house for professional cleaning by leaving sinks, counters, and floors free and clear of dishes and personal clutter so cleaning may do their job properly. Staying out of the home during professional cleaning is highly recommended, at minimum guests should stay out of cleaners way completely.
Move-out: Guest is responsible for leaving house in a respectable condition for basic cleaning. Please strip all used beds and place dirty linens and towels in an obvious pile. Dishes should be either washed or placed in dishwasher. Trash emptied.
