Yes I made that word up! :) One of the most rewarding guests we have hosted was Sariati who is originally from SE Asia. She says, “Elam and family’s place is immaculate and spotless. I feel home. Coincidently, he speaks my language so :-) Everything is charming and this Airbnb is a gem of Lancaster hospitality that anyone want to stay. Thanks Elam and Francesca !!!” This was rewarding because we had the opportunity to interact with a culture other than our own (Between my wife and I, we have been to ~30 countries). We also have a significant concentration of Linguistics and Culture in our college studies. This guest was also rewarding because she recognized our desire to be hospitable. My wife’s family is constantly serving others. They love it. I grew up Amish and hospitality is a strong cultural value. My wife and I are a team. She is an amazing business partner. She has taught me a lot about creating lasting memories. We both love creating these memories with people and in the context of people / cultures other than our own.
