Where you’ll be

Plainfield, Vermont, United States

Secluded enough to be completely private, yet convenient to area attractions and fine restaurants. Located in the beautiful town of East Calais/Plainfield. 15 minutes from the state capital Montpelier and 15 minutes to Vermont's famous Cabot Cheese Factory. 30 minutes to Waterbury, and 30 minutes to the Northeast Kingdom with its Hill Farmstead (highest rated brewery in the world), Parker Pie, and miles and miles of the most pristine hiking and fishing and swimming east of the Mississippi. Burke Mountain is 45 minutes away, with its world renowned mountain biking trails in the summer and ski runs come winter. VAST trail access on our road for snowmobile and cross country skiing enthusiasts.

This is Vermont's Lake Region, and you can find some of the most beautiful and clean lakes and swim ponds in the world around here. The best are #10 pond (the cleanest lake in VT) and Curtis Pond. At Curtis Pond there is a large boat ramp, a great dock for swimming, and you will find the most charming general store in existence, that also makes amazing sandwiches, called Maple Corners. These lakes are both less than 10 miles away.

For dining in Montpelier there is Vietnamese (Capital Pho), Indian (Namaste), a great Italian restaurant (Sarducci's), and a new 5 star, farm-to-table restaurant (Oakes & Evelyn). There is also an array of other hits like Mad Taco, Uncommon Market, pizza, Mexican, Chinese, etc. And of course, the world famous beer bar - Threepenny Taproom, where you can sip fresh Hill Farmstead Brews on tap. (They also make a killer burger).

30 minutes away is the town of Waterbury with noted restaurants - Hen of the Wood, Prohibition Pig, Blackback Pub, and The Reservoir.

If you want to stay real local, there is the amazing Positive Pie in Plainfield, the Marshfield General Store, and a new hipster market/cafe/bar/art hang out spot called Fox Market. (They also serve spot on Rotisserie chicken Thursdays-Saturdays, and cheeseburgers the rest of the week).

We are under an hour away from all the famous ski resorts - Burke, Sugarbush and Stowe.

I am a 34 year old designer and small business owner currently living in Vermont via New York City and Copenhagen where I originate. As a mother of 3 I enjoy spending time with family, especially outside where we love planting good things to eat and roasting it over a big fire. I have a background as a product designer and love making things from scratch whether it be a piece of furniture or a loaf of bread. I love design and art and peculiar objects with passion and you will see evidence of this throughout my house in my furniture and styling choices. I love meeting new people and exploring places and cultures to always feel inspired and grow.
