2 Bedrooms + Sofa Sleeper + Air Mattress, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)
Historic home, in a quiet tree-lined neighborhood, 2 blocks from the heart of the action!
Quiet and comfortable 2 bedrooms, on the 1st floor of a classic DC townhouse. Located in one of the most upscale sections of the city - the west side of DuPont Circle, in Kalorama - the safest neighborhood in DC. President Obama lives just around the corner!
The home is exceptionally large - 1200 square feet of indoor living space - featuring high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and period finishes. Enhancing those quarters is a private screened-in back porch. Nestled in the trees, it's the perfect place to relax after a day of business or sightseeing.
The bedrooms are nicely sized and comfortably appointed; the mattresses topped with freshly laundered linens, cleaned just prior to your arrival. If traveling with couples, the sofa sleeper in the living room expands the sleeping quarters.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and if you're into organics, included is a Vitamix. Please feel free to use our spices for your cooking needs; groceries can be purchased just down the way at the corner market.
You are a short walk to hundreds of cafes and restaurants in DuPont and Georgetown, and within walking distance to the Capitol, White House, Smithsonian, Washington Monument, and the zoo.
The DuPont Metro Station is just a few blocks away, and cabs are abundant in the area. If you are bringing a vehicle, street parking permits can be added to your quote.
What you can expect: It is my aim to provide guests five-star amenities; the same touches that I appreciate when I travel: lodging located in a gorgeous neighborhood, cleanliness, upscale linens and towels, comfortable mattresses, high-speed Internet and eclectic decor.
Please Note: I book on a first-come basis, and the furnishings are constantly evolving.

Here's what Pam had to say about her stay:
Wonderful property in a fabulous location. My husband and two young adult children used this property on a recent visit to DC. The description of the property including photos was perfectly accurate. The apartment is lovely with interesting and comfortable furnishings and was spotless on our arrival. I was thrilled to find a French coffee press in the kitchen which makes delicious coffee! How wonderful it was to have a cup of coffee on the screened back porch in such a quiet setting. The area is great with easy access to restaurants, shopping and Metro. We enjoyed just walking the area to view the surrounding architecture and Embassies. The owner was thorough, helpful and well-organized on all materials involving the property. We would highly recommend this property for any visit to DC and would hope to stay there again ourselves.
Other things to note
Any number of street parking permits can be arranged, at $125 per car, per visit.
Washington, DC Rental Agreement
First, please allow me to apologize for the tone of this Rental Agreement and Cancellation Policy, as it is much harsher than I want to be toward my guests, most of whom are BEYOND fabulous!
That said, every year or so, we do get that one dishonorable person, no matter how well I've vetted them. Still, I am so sorry for catching you up in that situation.
I accept reservation requests from guests who are serene by nature: people who are looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat in the urban core and will respect our neighbors.
If you decide to stay, there are conditions of the rental that you'll want to be comfortable with:
a. No parties: Although our home is private, it is one unit in a multi-unit townhome and I must maintain a calm, quiet atmosphere for my neighbors. Please know there can be no parties (including dinner parties with guests who are not lodgers), receptions, loud music/TV, and that quiet hours are in effect from 11pm-9am. Of course, normal family noises are to be expected;
b. Liability: Our home is privately owned. The host and owner are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur while on the premises, nor are they responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of guests;
c. The EXACT address of the property is forthcoming in my confirmation email; that address supersedes all others;
d. Access: Sometimes we may need to come by to retrieve clothing, put up linens, or to allow workers in to maintain the property. Of course, you would be notified first. We try to schedule access for when guests are not present, but sometimes that is not always possible. I will contact you if I need to get inside. However, if we need immediate access and you are not reachable, we will let ourselves in;
e. Should anyone question you for being an unfamiliar face on the property, please say that you are our guest. To date, there has never been a problem;
f. Please do not ask our neighbors for assistance of any kind. They live in the building, so naturally, they are watchful. However, if you keep to yourselves and follow the conditions of the rental, all will be well;
g. We adore children (I'm a former midwife). However, if your child is crying in the middle of the night, please do not allow them to "cry it out.” Prolonged crying is not considered normal family noises;
Unfortunately, not abiding the conditions is cause for immediate removal, with no monies refunded.
Again, please forgive the tone of this missive!
