We call our home Vida Dulce, Sweet Life, because we are grateful for the opportunity to live here and share it with others. Our home is a multi-level indoor/outdoor living environment.

The space

Located approximately three hours from the airport in Guatemala City, Panajachel is the welcoming town of Lake Atitlan, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world according to A. Huxley. Our home is a multi-level indoor/outdoor living environment. The lower level is our potted plant patio, our bedroom and the guest room and full bathroom with hot shower. The guest room is furnished with a double person futon, and futon couch(1 person), chairs, tables, and armorer. There is a reading light by the bed. Purified water is available. Our third/fourth level are two terrazzos, or open rooftop spaces, filled with planters, chairs and table . The house is located on a small callejon between the main two streets and we are only three blocks to the lake. This is the IDEAL location for travelers who want to be close to the main tourist areas, and the lake, but not be bombarded by noise.

Guest access

Our guests are welcome to enjoy the amazing view of the volcanoes and sky from our rooftop. Feel free to bring your purchased beverage, or food to the rooftop and watch the sky.
Your room, the lower patio, rooftop and lower bathroom are available for your use.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to provide information about some of the great places to see and be around the lake.

Other things to note

Steve is a singer songwriter from Austin and director of the Atitlan Music School. Elisabeth is an internationally registered Bach Flower Practitioner and Reiki Master. We perform around town.

Steve and Elisabeth are very friendly and helpful. It's a nice, spatious room with double bed and there's a bathroom on the same floor. There is a roof terrace with a besutiful view you can use. I had a great stay, thanks!

Response from Elisabeth:
I really enjoyed meeting you Rosine. I wish Elisabeth had been here for you, too. Happy Trails and have a good school year.

Nice room in a tiny street close to all the restaurants, with very helpful hosts. I imagined the deck a bit differently though: it's overlooking tin roofs and not really the lake. Our second night was quiet and we slept very well but we had barking dogs and roosters from 2 to 4am on the first night (something to be expected in a town like Panajachel).

Response from Elisabeth:
Dear Pierre, Yes, though Panajchel is a town, it is in fact a rural one with roosters and dogs throughout the neighborhoods. Some nights it is beautifully silent, as you experienced your second night. At other times, there is neighborhood animal sounds. Concerning the upper roof areas, most guests find the view stunning- the sky, volcanoes, a bit of lake as it is listed, "volcano views". Your next stay is directly in a village across the lake is directly on the shore line; I hope you were able to have the lake views you wanted.

Great place that's close to all of the spots you'll want to visit but tucked in a quiet street! Elizabeth is super hospitable and had some treats and hot tea waiting for us when we first arrived.
