Other things to note
We are based in a rural part of Wales in a small picturesque village of Llandrillo in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB.
The village has 2 restaurants and a post office. Our property is surrounded by farm fields usually home to some sheep and cows. We also have a friendly little dog and some chickens and ducks who may want to come and say hello . We have damned the river, so there is a lovely spot for a bit of a wild river dip very close to the house if that's your sort of thing. We are really close to Bala and Llyn Tegid (Lake), where you can do all manner of water sports, and we are close to Corwen, Llangollen, and Ruthin. All beautiful market towns with shops, cafes, and walks to enjoy.

Please ask anything that may help with your booking, we try to accommodate what we can.

If you did want to bring an infant with your own travel cot, please ask, and we welcome one well-behaved dog.
Fiona has a holistic practice on site, so please ask if you would like to book in for some treatments, including reflexology, acupuncture, massage, and reiki. You can find more information on the website and search for Hemp Holistics, Llandrillo.
We also offer a dog sitting service( if, for example, you wanted to visit a non dog friendly attraction) as long as your dog is friendly , we are very fond of animals and would be well looked after. For example, Portmeirion is close by but does not allow dogs. Also, we can offer guided walks up to the stone circle above the village, as well as a cream tea and prosecco delivered to your door. If you require any of these services, they are available by prior arrangement, depending on availability. Some guests have requested a breakfast or welcome hamper, and with us being so close to Rhug organic farm shop, we are happy to do so.

Neighbourhood highlights

Hafod yr Hemp is situated 10 minutes walk from the village of Llandrillo at the base of the Berwyn Mountains. It is a rural setting surrounded by farm land. Expect to see some cows and sheep. Sometimes, the neighbouring farm moves the sheep down the road, and it's what is known as rush hour around here. 😁There is plenty of wildlife, a heron living nearby, who flies over every morning. Murmurations of starlings can often be seen flying over to roost in the nearby woods. Owls and woodpeckers are often visitors. We do keep hens and ducklings who may want to say hello over the fence. We also have a friendly little dog. The river Ceidiog flows by the end of the garden, and we have a hammock in summertime for lazy afternoons where you can be lulled into an afternoon snooze by the sound of the river slowly flowing by. The village has two restaurants and and post office for all your necessities. We are a 15 minutes drive from Llyn Tegid /Bala Lake where you can do some water activities and 15 minutes in the other direction is the beautiful market town of Corwen home of Owain Glyndwr a national hero of Wales. Both towns have plenty of takeaways to choose from.
