The space
This historic home was built in 1896. It is newly renovated and offers plenty of historic charm and modern amenities. The interior was designed by SCAD alumni, and the home features original art from the SCAD grads.

This private bedroom includes 1 queen bed, a desk/workspace, and a Roku Smart TV. There are 2 full bathrooms in the home. One is located in the living room, and the other is attached to the master bedroom, which may be booked by other Airbnb guests. While your bathroom is located off of the living room and is shared / accessible to these guests, they do have their own private bathroom attached to their bedroom, so they will likely not be using your bathroom too often, other than to use the washer / dryer. The full kitchen is perfect for preparing light meals and includes a stove, oven, a fridge/freezer, microwave, and Keurig. It's stocked with cooking essentials like pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and mugs. There is no formal dining area.

The patio offers a gorgeous view, and is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee!

Please keep in mind this private room is located in an apartment on the second floor of a multi unit building.

This listing is a great fit for young couples or travelers who have previous experience booking private bedrooms within a shared space. It’s likely that on busy weekends or popular travel times that you’ll be sharing the home with other Airbnb guests and may interact with them in passing. Each bedroom is listed as its own Airbnb for travelers to book.

This is a shared space, and we ask that all of our guests are courteous and respectful. Please note that we cannot be responsible for the behavior of other guests.

There is an electronic keypad on the front door for convenient self check-in. Each bedroom also has its own electronic lock for additional peace of mind.

Parking: There is free, on-street parking available. This is very common in Savannah - if you decide to stay downtown, you will have a very hard time finding off-street parking. There is usually ample parking available, but it is first come, first served and there are no reserved spaces. We cannot guarantee parking spaces, or enough space for trailers, U-Hauls, boats, etc. Please be advised of weekly street cleaning - there are signs that indicate which day of the week the street cleaning is, and if you happen to stay during street cleaning, you can just park on the opposite side of the street.

Quiet Hours: This is a residential neighborhood. Please be advised that we ask all guests to respect 10PM quiet hours every night of the week. Any violations may result in a formal report on Airbnb or an early termination of your reservation.

Any unapproved late checkouts may result in additional fees.

There is a $50 shipping fee for any items that you leave behind and need shipped back to you.

You're within walking distance to historic downtown and many Savannah staples, including Fox & Fig, Hitch, Peregrin, and J. Christopher's. Spend the day exploring SCAD buildings, beautiful Savannah squares, or take a tour of the Cathedral, all without a car. A quick 6 minute Uber ride to River Street and about a 25 minute drive to Tybee Island!

I’d recommend this home to anyone looking to come to Savannah to have a great time and experience the city as locally and authentically as possible! If a residential neighborhood filled with art students and families of folks who look differently than you will make you uncomfortable, then I’d recommend a hotel. If things like dust on blinds, leaves on the patio, or scuffs on the stairs are what will determine whether or not you enjoy your stay, I’d also recommend a hotel. It just depends on what you’re looking for as a visitor, and if you’re unsure about what may be the most suitable for you and your needs, we're happy to chat with you at any point to help you determine that!

Savannah's Victorian District is a diverse neighborhood that flows south from the well-known National Landmark Historic District. The Victorian District encompasses the West Victorian, East Victorian, and Dixon Park neighborhoods. This downtown neighborhood was developed in the second half of the 19th century as a streetcar suburb of the original city and is studded with two- and three-story houses as ornate as wedding cakes.

Thanks to residents' dedication and commitment to preservation and restoration, the Victorian District is known for its beauty and charm. It's a very central neighborhood, consisting of SCAD students, Savannah locals, and vacation homes alike. The Victorian District's short city blocks and vibrant mix of residential, commercial establishments and parks make it one of Savannah's most walkable neighborhoods.

Local neighborhood shops and restaurants include:

• Forsyth Park - Just a two block walk. Make sure you check out the Forsyth Farmer's Market, which takes place every Saturday from 9a.m. to 1p.m.

• Brighter Day Natural Foods Market - Savannah's historic natural foods market has served as an anchor at the south end of Forsyth Park since 1978, offering a wide selection of organic goods, fresh produce, natural foods, and they even have a walk-up deli window serving up tasty sandwiches on the go! An ideal stop for visitors who would like to pack a healthy picnic to enjoy in Forsyth Park

• Betty Bombers - Located inside the American Legion Post 135 building just off Forsyth Park, this retro eatery features freshly prepared American cuisine in a retro setting. The restaurant shares space with the American Legion bar, which boasts some of the cheapest prices in all of Downtown Savannah and draws an eclectic crowd.

• Local 11ten - Local 11ten creates a nightly farm-to-table dining experience complete with intelligent local cuisine, a welcoming personality and modern design in a contemporary setting with a rooftop bar.

• The Sentient Bean - We love the Bean for vegan breakfast and lunch options.

• The Collins Quarter Café - A local favorite for weekend brunch and mimosas.

Hello! We're Starland Stays, and we're committed to providing you with the best possible Airbnb experience. We're a team of locals who wanted to find a way to share Savannah - our home - to visitors around the globe.

Our listings are primarily in The Starland District here in Savannah, which was dreamed up by two SCAD graduates in the early 1990's. They imagined an artsy, lively neighborhood with a sense of community for the locals and a unique Savannah charm to lure visitors, and they’ve succeeded. Now, The Starland District is home to dozens of small businesses, cafes, breweries, and so much more! This is where all the cool locals hang - we hope you love it as much as we do!
