Former apple press, it adjoins the entrance to the Priory of Mestry, very close to the small 15th century church.

Carefully renovated, it offers a quiet break in a green setting 15 minutes from the sea.

The space
It is a cottage located in the vast garden of the priory.

- It is possible to rent the two cottages of the Priory of Mestry: 2 beds in the cottage "La Chouette Dort" and 2 beds in the cottage "L'Escale" (on request 2 other beds in sofa bed).

The gîte comprises of:

- On the ground floor: a large, very bright living room with an open kitchen. The French window opens onto a private south-facing terrace and the Priory's garden
- A comfortable sofa bed 140 X 190 (upon request only)

- Upstairs: a bedroom with an en-suite shower room and separate toilet.

Large 180 X 200 bed or on request, two twin beds. We have selected hotel bedding, for very comfortable nights. Beds made on arrival

- You can enjoy the calm of the large garden to read under the trees or take a walk.

Our cottage "L'escale" is located in the countryside, in the charming hamlet of Mestry, 16 km from Omaha Beach and 24 km from the beautiful city of Bayeux.

It's an ideal base to recharge and explore the area. The major landing sites of Omaha, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery are a few kilometers away. You can also visit charming and historic places: the Bayeux tapestry, the Caen memorial, the Colombières castle, Mont Saint Michel, Granville and the Channel Islands… and of course, enjoy seaside, walking and cycling on the "velomaritime" bike path.

All shops 7 km away.

Other things to note
We live in the nearby priory. Guests of the "L'Escale" cottage will have the pleasure of resting under the trees or strolling through the large garden of the Priory of Mestry. We cross it from time to time to go to the common areas, including the laundry room, and to leave the property.
If you wish, we can provide two cottages for two people "L'escale" and "la chouette d'or". It's possible to book both cottages at the same time. The "L'Escale" cottage includes 4 beds (upon request) and the "Chouette d'Or" cottage includes 2 beds.

For "bell lovers", the church behind the cottage rings the hours three times a day: at 7 a.m., noon and 7 p.m.
