Situated in "cool country" Trentham, the Chef’s Shed was originally built in 1860, and has been lovingly transformed into a cosy, spacious and unique place to stay.
It has quirky living spaces, including a loft, and wide, stunning views over the land around, even from the private sauna which can be used for a modest fee.
From here you can explore the region. We are surrounded by nature, and a few minutes drive from historic Trentham with cafes, pubs, walking tracks and a lot of history.

The space
You can expect amazing views of the countryside from the loft, outdoor areas, and the bathtub. There is a large kitchen, two bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds, and a cozy living space with a wood burner. The spacious dining/work space opens onto an undercover outdoor area with a bbq, and an outdoor fire pit. Take your pick from all the options for a morning coffee!

Guest access
You will have exclusive use of the Chef's Shed. We live on the property in the main farmhouse, and are available if you need - but privacy is guaranteed . The private sauna can be used by request, for a small addition fee. Car parking situated alongside the Chef's Shed.

Other things to note
You will be in authentic country Victoria, where the weather is changeable and you are surrounded by gorgeous farmland. This is a rustic and homely experience, in a historic and restored outbuilding on a 150-year old property. If you are looking for peace and quiet, away from the busy cities so you can relax and unwind, or simply work uninterrupted, this is the place for you.

Having lived in different places in the world we settled in Australia about 20 years ago. We spent the last 10 years renovating the old farm house and the Chef's Shed as well as designing and building a new unit, The Lodge which is also on Airbnb. Our son Jochem is cohost and has contributed his artistic and building skills in realising the Chef's Shed design. After my husband Bart retired we look after the Chef's Shed together
