House Rules
No smoking

The name of the cabin is Plain Fun.

Please, no smoking in the house. If you have any smokers, there are ash trays in the dresser on the deck. Don't throw any butts on the ground, they can smolder and start a fire.

Campfires allowed ONLY when outdoor burning is allowed by the Fire Dept. This area is dry in the summer and fires can get out of control very fast!! As you head up Camp 12 road, you will see a reader board for the neighborhood, that's where it's posted if outdoor fires are prohibited. Our permit is in the pink binder on the shelf.

We like our neighbors, quiet after 11:00, please!

Most of this info is also on the fridge, along with our cell numbers. THERE IS A CHECKOUT LIST, THIS IS NOT FOR GUEST! IT IS FOR FRIENDS THAT USE THE CABIN AND DON'T PAY FOR A CLEANER.

Outdoor Heater
There is a outdoor heater on the deck. It's okay to use it on the deck, JUST MAKE SURE IT'S NOT UNDER A FLAG. You'll see when you get there what I mean. Turn on propane tank, turn knob to ignite & hold down, and push igniter.

There is a tarp covering the two sofas on the deck. Just fold it up and set between the deck and trailer. The cleaner will recover them.

Pretty simple, vents on the side. Make sure CLOTHES DRYING & wood isn't touching stove!

Furnace, thermostat is in the hall.
Baseboard, one in the living room (turn to mark), if needed.
The heaters work really well, you can cook yourself out if turned up to high.

Living room, turn on power strip (on the floor next to the shelf). First time power strip is turned on, you have to the VCR/DVD on, then off, then on again.

Both the door and wall fold open to make it larger when showering, etc.
Heater, turn to low, ON HIGH IT WILL TRIP. Make sure to turn off when not using!

There are towels/linens in the closet & second drawer of dresser in entry.
Mattress cover for futon in hamper on top of washer. Easy to leave futon made and turn into couch, if using as a bed. Then you don't have to remake everyday!

Queen in bedroom
Twin Bunks in Bunk Room
Pink couch folds out to twin

Sleds against back of BBQ shed. Sledding Hill marked on the map. Cross Country skis can be rented at Plain Hardware, trails in Plain & Kahler Glenn golf course, the hardware store will explain where.

Wireless at the Plain Store

Bunk Room
Don't swing in top bunks. NO FOOD IN BUNK ROOM, MICE WILL MOVE IN!!
Step stool under bed.

Outside Switches
BBQ area, lower switch on front right corner post. Deck light switch, next to washer/dryer. Paper lantern switch is where the strand plugs in to the wall

Propane is heavier than air! If it goes out after lighting, open the hood and air it out well, before relighting! We haven't had it go out, but this is good info to share!

There is a lock box, we'll supply the code just before check-in. We change the code after each guest. There is a key hanging inside, put the key back in the lock box after you enter. If you get locked out or lose the key, you will be able to use the key in the lock box to get back in.

Most of all...Have fun!!

Kelly was extremely flexible with us when my work schedule changed, which we so appreciated! The cabin has a nice wood stove, and a furnace that warms the place right up until the wood stove gets going. It was very cozy! Good water pressure and hot water. The pet fee is quite reasonable, too. The pictures are accurate -- the cabin and many of the furnishings have their better days behind them, but the bed was nice (comfy topper!), the cabin had all we needed and it makes a good, reasonably priced home base for adventures. I'm sure in the summer, that outdoor room/deck is fantastic. If you don't have Verizon, write down driving directions ahead of time. We have T-Mobile and had zero service anywhere but right in Leavenworth (5 minutes outside of town. . nope).

We had such a wonderful time in your cabin. It was well-appointed, and we marveled over all the small touches. Its obviously a well-loved and well-cared for cabin. The kids *adored* the bunkhouses and the amply-supplied Wii! I really appreciated the usefulness of the dishwasher and the well-supplied kitchen, as well as the homey-feel of a loved family retreat. It's definitely a compact space but for our three day retreat the coziness was welcome. We had a wonderful time sledding down the local hill, snowshoeing around the yard, and watching the snow fall. We hope to return in the summer to experience it then!

Kelly's place is a lovely secluded feeling retreat with no wifi or phone service (which I consider a perk.) It's a short drive into Plain which is a quaint town with wonderful cross country skiing trails (maintained, charmingly, by the hardware store). The cabin itself is no frills but the owners have clearly thought of everything that could be wanted including hooks above the wood stove for drying wet snow clothes and heaters on the porch. Only coveiat is take chains! Neighborhood and driveway can be pretty treacherous in the winter. Overall lovely, quaint getaway, will definitely go again.

We had a great stay at the cabin. It was central to visiting Leavenworth and skiing at Stevens Pass. We had everything we needed and more! Communication and the check-in/check-out process was very easy. It probably is common knowledge for people who frequently visit the area, but make sure your vehicle either has 4-wheel drive or you have tire chains available - for safety driving over the mountain passes and also navigating the steep hills in the cabin's neighborhood.

Be sure to check weather conditions if staying during the winter. You'll need a 4X4 or all wheel drive vehicle. If not then recommend you chain up. Other than this the vacation was fabulous! Scenic drive, secluded & quiet, and all the amenities you'll need. No Wifi & cellular service
