Camaleonte Verde (Green Chameleon) is an house located in a three floors 30s building in Ostiense neighborhood, gasometer area. The entire building has been completely renovated both outside and in individual apartments.
I studied every detail of the restructuring, and now that it's over, I'm very proud of the result.
The house is about 60 square meters, it consists of a large living-kitchen area and two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Quiet and well-connected, can accommodate up to four people, perfect for a short stay in Rome.
It 's very bright, furnished in a minimalist way, with colors ranging from gray to light blue. The only exception is the kitchen wall made by tile-color tests which gives it an exceptionally joyful tone.
Fast Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, air conditioning, heating.
The surrounding area, the old industrial area of Rome in the early twentieth century, is now in full recovery through re-use of derelict lands.
Here, where there were derelict or disused spaces, now there is the University of Rome 3, the "House of Taste" and, in the old warehouses of the Miralanza power station, was born the "India" Theatre. Inside the abandoned Montemartini thermal power station there is now a fascinating archaeological museum and instead of the general markets is borning the "City of Youth", a place of music, cinema, restaurants and entertainment.
This was the neighborhood loved by Pasolini and brought to prominence by the turkish film-director Ozpetek. The zone is constantly changing and it is currently one of the trendiest areas of the city. Staying is a pleasure!
From the window of one of the bedrooms you can see the gasometer!
It is an area well connected by bus and subway nearby, but also with a short walk are easily reachable Trastevere, Testaccio and Aventino .
