Self check-in

Check yourself in with the lockbox.
Take a break at Johnnies Cottage and unwind in the heart of Wensleydale, right in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Situated in the small village of Bainbridge, a stones throw from a cute little teashop, a butchers, 5 minute walk to the local pub and local community shop.

Johnnies Cottage is the perfect base for exploring, whether on foot, by car, bike or the ‘little white bus’.

Johnnies Cottage is very highly regarded with an abundance of returning guests.

The space
Johnnies Cottage is open plan and well equipped, to meet most of your requirements, so your stay is as comfortable as possible. Hob/Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher, Washing Machine/Dryer and a good range of kitchen equipment. Small dining table and 2 chairs.

There is a multi fuel log burning stove providing the perfect ambience and warmth. You will have a complimentary bucket of coal and logs for your first few nights.

There is a stone store at the back of the property which is a welcome addition for those with a bike.

There is a bistro set available (under the stairs) should you wish to enjoy the outside space for your morning coffee, afternoon tea. The front and side of the property belongs to the cottage and this is not secluded.

A Roku stick is provided in the bedroom for added channels, together with a Bluetooth speaker (to sync with mobile) and an Alexa speaker.

The cottage is perfect to enjoy as a couple needing a break away, or ramblers who wish to enjoy a walking holiday.

Other things to note
Being at the bottom of a valley, some phone signals are poor for standard texts and phone calls. Johnnies cottage has high speed internet, therefore wifi related messages; works well.
If you use the Roku stick and apps (Amazon Prime etc) please remember to sign out 😊
Bainbridge is very central and whilst the location has been described by many as perfect… the road in and out of Bainbridge can be busy at weekends. Also note The Dales is an agricultural community, hence transport carrying livestock. Also note RAF Catterick - an hour away, occasionally has training days for their fighter jets.
The cottage is on two floors and therefore requires mobility. In the event of a fire, exit routes may not be suitable for disabled or vulnerable people.

My work: Vipr solutions
Insurance software professional from Suffolk, commuting to London, whilst enjoying the Yorkshire Dales as often as I can. I love to travel and spent a short while living in India, which I loved. I have a gorgeous little dog called Lola and 2 grown up wonderful children. 1 of which lives in Madrid, hence I try and spend as much time there as possible. I love spending time with my dad and we have enjoyed many adventures together walking the Camino’s across Spain, Portugal and France. My dad is incredible; he’s 67 and recently walked from Munich to Venice! The Yorkshire Dales have always been close to my heart and I’ve many special memorable trips that’s I’ve shared with friends. I’m also a host to a gorgeous little cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, so appreciate the pride taken in renting out your home.
