Furry friends welcome

Bring your pets along for the stay.
Hidden on a farm near Beaminster, you'll find Gabriel, our tranquil Shepherd's Hut with breathtaking views & cosy home comforts. Perfect for a romantic couple’s trip or a solo country escape.

Step outside the door for scenic walks, wildlife watching, & gorgeous countryside, with local beaches & charming towns just a short drive away.

The hut has a comfy double bed, woodburner and BBQ. Guests also have access to a shared kitchen, toilet, and shower block with hotel-quality touches, Pets welcome

The space
Our shepherd’s hut is kitted out with charming decor: At one end, there's a cosy double bed, complete with a bedside table, lantern, blankets, and a cute little table and chairs for two, perfect for enjoying countryside views or stargazing.
The woodburning stove in the corner keeps you toasty warm throughout the night, you’ll find a basket of wood waiting for you upon arrival. If you need more, additional logs are available onsite – just contact Alice before your stay to arrange it.

During your stay, you can use a shared, fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, cutlery, bottle opener, and essentials like tea, coffee, and sugar. There's also a portable hob for simple dinners. Each hut has its own designated storage space, so all you need to bring are your food, drinks, and seasonings.

You'll also have access to nearby shared washing facilities, including a separate toilet and a shower block with luxurious, spa-inspired touches. Enjoy an excellent shower with fluffy towels, along with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion provided.

This hut benefits from a slightly larger outside space than the neighbouring hut and you’ll find a BBQ outside for making the most of those warm, balmy evenings. Perfect for watching the sun set over the Dorset hills and stargazing late into the night. (Please bring your own charcoal briquettes for the BBQ!)

Step outside and explore miles of unspoilt countryside teeming with wildlife – a dream come true for nature lovers! You might catch sight of local lambs or Rodger the horse grazing nearby. If you’re lucky, you could spot the odd hare hopping by the hut. Birdwatchers can spot barn owls, kestrels, buzzards, sparrowhawks, black redstarts, and fieldfares.

Want to bring your dog? Pets are welcome! Your furry friend will love the scenic walks and lush grassy areas right outside the door.

Our comfortable hut is just a stone's throw from another one-bedroom shepherd’s hut and a beautiful five-bedroom farmhouse - Don't worry though, you'll have plenty of privacy if that's what you're seeking! All our properties can be booked solo or with space for up to 14 other guests. Please message for further details.

Extras & Activities

Mid-week stays (Tuesday to Thursday) include a 2-hour session on the padel tennis court as part of your booking – no extra charge! Additional sessions can be arranged with the hosts for £30 per hour.

If you're staying on a Monday, Friday or over the weekend, you’re welcome to book a session on the padel court for £30 per hour, payable and arranged with the hosts on arrival. Paddles and balls are provided, so all you need to bring is your game face!

Equestrian guests are also very welcome – feel free to bring your horse to explore the miles of beautiful bridleways and countryside routes nearby. We offer trailer or lorry parking, stable and turnout, and can also provide bedding and hay for an additional fee.

Guest access
Upon arrival, Alice will welcome you to the property. It’s a short walk down form the parking to the huts – We’d recommend bringing bags that are easy to carry rather than wheeled suitcases.

There’s plenty of lighting around the shower and loo block, as well as on the huts, so getting about at night is no problem – though it never hurts to bring a torch, just in case!

Make sure to pack wellies or sturdy outdoor shoes – the huts sit on grassy ground – plus waterproofs and warm layers. Each hut has a log burner and a small heater, but it can still get nippy, so an extra blanket might be a good shout if you feel the cold. Bedding, pillows and blankets are provided.

You’ll need to bring your own toiletries, but we’ve got you covered with loo roll, tea and coffee. There are basic cooking facilities and all the cutlery and crockery you’ll need. And don’t forget your sense of adventure – it’s all part of the glamping experience!
