This is a great house, very well equiped, especially if you like to cook. It was perfect for the kids too. Jan and his family are super nice and welcoming. The house was cleaned everyday and you could even have your clothes washed by the lovely lady that works for Jan. It may look far from the action but we never had problem finding taxis to and from town. I highly recommand this house and the really nice owners.

Stayed Feb. 4–13, 2016. Wonderful trip, great villa. Jan and Paulina were great hosts. Unique property that may be niche. Recommend checking it out. Disclaimer: Also hired Jan to cook two meals, and to guide several days. Jan won't always be available for these separate costs. Background: Group was 4 males, 4 females, ages 22–76. Spanish fluency: None. Galapagos experience: None. Mom had wheelchair but can walk briefly. I planned our trip; Jan gave invaluable help. Sometimes busy working on a cruise, but replies were generally prompt. "Villa": Country home. Jan and family live there. During our stay, they stayed elsewhere. Saw Jan ~daily and could call via house phone. Villa's on unnamed street. Jan provided directions for taxi driver. (Villa's southeast of Bellavista, near Hotel Tortuga Bay, which is NOT near Tortuga Bay.) Flight landed 3 hours late, but Jan met us warmly at villa. Jan gave brief tour of Puerto Ayora. Listing was accurate but changes: Jan keeps improving it! Example: May have air conditioning and more rails/slip guards. (Balcony/shower tiles slippery.) 5–6 beds that sleep 8. 3 showers, 3 toilets, 4 bathroom sinks. Villa *not* in walking distance of Puerto Ayora. Can bike/jog; took taxis. Taxi called via house phone. $4 one-way ($5 at-night). 4 passengers/taxi = $2/person round-trip. Given list of familiar taxi drivers; they speak only Spanish. Can learn enough Spanish in an hour: simple phrases. Taxis can be viewed as inconvenience or adventure. (Became friends with our drivers!) Booked villa so Mom could see stars. Great! Beautiful huge-balcony mornings: Birds+view. Villa is privilege to behold. Lovingly designed/built. Roomy. Much concrete (anti-termite), much custom Galapagos wood. Clean. Giant windows. Unique trees. Full kitchen. Laundry. Potable water! French-press coffee! Cell reception. Hot water. Daily housekeeper. Jan/Paulina are licensed, experienced guides: Land/diving/cooking/languages. Helpful before and during trip. Thank you, Jan and Paulina!
