Our delightful cosy Cottage sleeps two, four if you want to use the sofa bed. Situated in amongst some of Argyll's most dramatic scenery. It's a perfect base for walks' sailing, horse riding, bird watching or just sitting by the wood burning stove.

The space
Historically West Barravullin was a very important place, as Crofters would bring their grain to be milled here - Translated - Barravullin means -Mill on the Hill. It is a tranquil, secluded property, a perfect place to relax and getaway from the rigours of everyday life. The Cottage has a double bed and if needed a double sofa bed - so can accommodate four. There is also outdoor seating with wonderful views of the Mountains on the Isle of Mull.

Guest access
Guests will have access to all areas apart from the Main house. There is seating and tables outdoors around the cottage and a field for pets to stretch their legs.

Other things to note
We provide WIFI although it can be unpredictable We have one puppy and a very well behaved dog, seven hens and two ducks that are free range. The cottage is 5 miles from the nearest shop and 10 mins drive from two Hotels with restaurants - so I suggest to guests that if they would rather prepare their own supper in the cottage to buy food before they arrive - either in Lochgilphead or Oban depending on which way the come. The Village shop in Ardfern is only 4/5 miles away and is open until 6.30 on week days on Sunday it closes at 6 and has a reasonable selection of food and wine.

What I love about this area is the History and the breathtakingly magical scenery. Ardfern has a marina where the guests can take a boat trip out to see the Corryvreckan Whirlpool - the second largest in Europe, or visit the Inner Hebridean Islands - Jura for instance where George Orwell wrote his futuristic novel - 1984.
