The space
The main space on the 2nd floor almost always gets some breeze. This is where we spend most of our time, where we eat and relax on sofas or mattresses. This floor has a gate that can be closed for toddler security. Putting a few harder pillows together will also prevent toddlers from trying to get to the rooftop.

The kitchen is just next to the dining area. It has a gas cooker, a fridge/ freezer, blender, toaster and all cooking utensils required.

There is one bedroom on each floor and they are more or less identical. 6x7 feet bed, adjacent bathroom with shower, shelves and hangers.

The main space on the first floor has a desk, two daybeds and an additional smaller bed suitable for older children or an adult.

The rooftop is mainly used for drying of clothes but can also be used for stargazing.

There are plenty of books (most in Swedish, some in English), children's toys and toddlers chair for eating. There is also a toddler bed that can be places under the mosquito net in any of the two bedrooms.

During your stay

A housekeeper named Kahindi is available and needs access to the rooms for cleaning and making the bed on a daily basis. Kahindi will wash the dishes, do laundry, shopping and cooking on request; he has more than 20 years cooking experience.

Talk to Kahindi on arrival about meal preferences, shopping and so on. You can either give Kahindi cash for the expected food cost of your stay on arrival and have him write down what he buys or pay Kahindi per meal in advance.

It is also important to talk to Kahindi about your privacy as Kahindi needs access to the house to cook, take away garbage, clean, do the dishes, make the beds and so on but when he does this is up to you.

Kahindi has been with the house since it was built and in Lamu for more than 25 years and will be happy to join you for breakfast or dinner.
