A lovely light and airy room on a tranquil street in the centre of town. Nick was a kind and easy-going host with alot of useful information. The place was very comfortable- perfect for a weekend getaway. It is also easy walking distance to the lovely waterfront that has some fantastic places to eat. Highly recommended airbnb!

Nick was a wonderful host. He was excellent at communicating with us up until we arrived! He was funny and welcoming and we felt comfortable and happy staying with him in his home. The location was perfect with an easy few steps into the town/beach/pubs/restaurants. The room and ensuite were perfect, clean and as we expected! Parking was easy and outside the house!

Nick's place offers everything you could want for a great stay. The room is ample size and the bed is ridiculously comfortable. The room came with a lovely ensuite with great facilities including an excellent shower. The house is in an excellent location for exploring Broadstairs and the surrounding areas. Nick was a tremendous host, he took the time to get to know us and make personal recommendations. We'd have no doubts about staying with Nick again

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Nick's home is just a few minutes walk from the beach, the shops, restaurants, pubs etc.- so saved a fortune on car park fees. The room was clean, bed comfy and shower amazing. It is in a quiet street with no passing traffic. Thank s Nick for being a caring host and sharing your knowledge of the area- we would have no hesitation in returning .

You'll love your stay in Tranquility! I live here because I love the vibe of Broadstairs and this house in particular. It gives me great pleasure to share it with guests.

I offer what guests want: a super-comfortable bed, fabulous shower and a host who understands your needs.

Whether you're visiting for the coast, the night-life, seeing friends, on retreat, joining a family celebration of wedding, passing through (cyclists welcome) or dreaming of moving to the coast - you won't be the first and you will be made to feel very welcome.

Not everyone 'gets' Airbnb. It's not a cheap alternative bed and breakfast site - it's for those who enjoy meeting new people and sharing their homes. "Strangers are only friends you haven't yet made friends with", so if that sounds like you, get in touch!

It will my great pleasure to accommodate you by the sea, where the music is great, the food excellent and the vibe what you've always wanted. You will leave relaxed and want to come back (many do)!

If you're single, in a couple, with a friend, or with family, young or older, with or without children or with a dog, staying for one night or a week - I've been privileged to have guests just like you enjoy their stay.

My two guest rooms are what Belgians call 'bed and linen' (breakfast isn't included (I want you to enjoy your stay!) but I will direct you to the perfect place for your breakfast needs - from simple café, to Broadie's Michelin-starred restaurant). Join me for a cup of tea at any time.

I'm DBS-certified (not many are) and have public liability insurance (not many do) as well. There are mains powered smoke detectors throughout.

Let's talk about how we can make your stay a great memory - start with my reviews. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Please note my cancellation terms are strictly observed. Bookings are bookings. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Here's a quick pen-picture of this part of the world...

Londoners have been escaping to the Isle of Thanet for more than 200 years … for the laidback seaside vibe … breathtaking sandy beaches … fresh sea air… and romantic Turner skies …

Here at the very edge of the Garden of England, three Georgian and Victorian resorts, each with its own distinctive character – Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate – cluster around the bays at the far end of a peninsula.

There’s a retro feel to these harbour towns, with their remarkable 18th and 19th century architecture, their classic seaside heritage and kitsch, their eclectic attractions and live arts and music venues. And there is a variety of independent places to shop, eat, drink and stay.

Miles of low chalk cliffs edge the peninsula, sheltering a string of secluded, unspoilt sandy bays. Chalk rockpools, chalk stacks and rare chalk reefs teem with wildlife. These are the closest surfing beaches to the capital city: a popular choice with south-east boarders.

Artists, writers and musicians have long been inspired by this almost-island … and continue to be drawn here. Turner said Thanet had “the loveliest skies in all Europe” … for Dickens Broadstairs was “the freshest, freest place” … and Tracey Emin declares in green neon on Margate seafront: “I never stopped loving you”.

The Isle’s a historic landing place steeped in symbolism for the story of Britain … the first Saxons Hengist and Horsa arrived and settled here … and St Augustine first stepped onto these shores on his way to nearby Canterbury.

For this is the furthest south east you can go in Britain … almost touching mainland Europe … yet these days only 75 minutes from central London …

And now with the Turner Contemporary gallery, the return of the iconic amusement park Dreamland, reimagined for the 21st century, and high-speed trains from the capital … a new generation is discovering this original seaside escape
