Interaction with guests
My husband and I both work full-time and are in-and-out on the weekends keeping our 5 year old entertained and exploring Austin. However, we're always available to answer a questions and would love to chat! You'll probably see us around, drawing chalk on the driveway or watching our daughter scooter down the street.
Windsor Park is a super hot, quickly growing part of Austin. It's friendly and relaxed. You'll see lots of folks walking their dogs and taking their kids for a stroller ride. We're right next to the Mueller development, which has a beautiful park, pond, playground, kids museum, and Sunday Farmers Market. There's some great restaurants within a couple minutes drive or bike: Torchy's Tacos, Contigo, Kome, Pacos Tacos, Sala and Betty and more! The city's only mini drive-in movie theater is also up the street. Or, if you need to cool off on a hot summer day, Bartholomew Pool, a new municipal pool, is up the street.
Use the Fasten app or the Curb taxi app to get around town. Try Fasten first. (Uber and lyft are temporarily gone from Austin. Boo!)
For to and from the airport there is an app called Wingz.
Renting a car also works well and there is tons of free parking on our street.
The Golden Rule: We ask that guests treat our home as they would want theirs to be treated.
-Smoking: No smoking indoors please!
-Pets: The house really isn't big enough for animals, sorry!
-Kids: We have a kid, so we're baby/kid friendly! The house is a studio, but one little one could fit, although maybe a little tight. We have a pack n' play if you need one. Could also supplies some toys if need be.
-Noise: Since we have a young daughter and neighbors, we ask that you keep the porch activity/noise level low in the later part of the evening.

Midwesterner who spent 10 years on east coast before recently becoming a Texan. Living in Austin is the best. I live here with my husband and daughter Lily. Obsessed with planning my next meal, walks around Town Lake, and summers on a Lake Michigan or Cape Cod.
