Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
A bright spacious open plan 1 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment. Within easy walking distance of the beach village and shops of Westward Ho!. Plenty of cafes, restaurants/bars to dine in or takeaway. Long sandy beach is great for surfing,with Surf school just down the road great for walking and dogs Coastpath/golfcourse 5 min walk away.Cycling -Tarka trail, 2 miles. Ideally suited for couples or with baby/older child.( clickclack small sofabed OK for short stays) Perfect for a last minute surf stop!

The space
"The Old Dairy" is a large bright open plan living/kitchen /dining area, apartment above our Surfboard showroom. Perfect for a surfing break! It is in an old building but with modern decor. We have 2 large comfortable leather armchairs to relax in after a busy day! Whilst watching the large screen smart tv, a dvd or just reading one of our magazines or books.
This property is ideally suited for couples. However there is also a click/clack sofa bed in the lounge, the size of a small double bed( with a topper) a bit basic, but ok for an odd night or two.
A door off the kitchen leads to the cosy bedroom with kingsize bed and shower room next door.
Essentials: Fluffy towels/ toiletries/coffee/tea/milk/ and a few basics are provided.
We are happy to welcome a dog (possibly 2 smaller ones) and have a dog box with towel/rug and bowls for our furry friends to use. however we would appreciate it if they were not left alone in the apartment please.

We are situated on Golf Links Road, one of the roads that takes you from Westward Ho!, village and the beach, along towards Appledore and Northam past the Cricket green and Royal N.Devon Golf Club. It is in an ideal location for exploring Westward Ho! and the beautiful beach and Northam Burrows Country Park.
The Surf Schools are a 5 minute walk away and we even have wall storage for your board and,wax if you forget to bring some with you.
With a short walk to the cafes/restaurants/pubs/ supermarkets and of course the gift shops and amusement arcades.
Everything you need for a relaxing break in Westward Ho!

Or why not use us as a base for exploring further afield. North Devon area has the most beautiful coastline and lots of interesting places to visit
Within reach are the coastal resorts of Puttsborough, Mortehoe, Woolacombe Croyde, Ilfracombe, Exmoor, Lynton, Lynmouth, Valley of the Rocks and then towards North Cornwall, we have Clovelly, Hartland, Bude, Widemouth Crackington Haven etc. Even Exeter the beautiful historic Cathederal city is only an hour away by car! or train from Barnstaple.

Guest access
On street parking is available directly outside from October until end of April ( when the double yellow lines do not apply) after this free parking is 50/100m along the roadside, (no lines) infront of the Surf Bay Holiday park, next door. The drive way at the side of us belongs to the properties behind and the double doors the other side, a mechanics garage/workshop ,which should be left clear at all times please.
The Ilfracombe/Barnstaple bus stops just across the road .
We can accommodate your bicycles ( x2 ) if you are on a cycling tour.
The flat is through 2 entrance doors and up a flight of 15 wooden stairs, with a handrail.

Other things to note
Please note our flat at "The Old Dairy" is situated on the road from Northam to Westward Ho ( Golf Links Road) It is next door to The Surf Bay Holiday Park on oneside and a working mechanics garage the other It has shared access with our surfboard workshop below. ( Electrofish Surfboards) which is open 3 days a week. See pictures. there is a double door next to a single door, with a sign for Electrofish surfboards above. The Entrance to the flat is through the single door ( sign says Old Dairy apartment) and then another inner locked door and up a flight of 15 quite steep wooden stairs opening on to the main living area There is a handrail to one side and a stairgate fixed to the wall at the top, should you need to use it.

Neighbourhood highlights

A perfect place for a short/long relaxing getaway or an activity weekend! 300m walk from Westward ho! Beach and Village with interesting local shops, cafes bars etc in one direction and then the Royal North Devon Golf Club 300m in the other direction. Westward ho! beach is perfect for surfing, swimming, walking sandcastle building (at low tide for the latter😂) Lifeguards on duty May/Sept. Choice of surf schools with lessons for beginners, paddle boarding kite surfing all locally available. Wakeboarding only a few miles away
There are plenty of fantastic Pubs, bars and restaurants open all year round in the village and there are some stunning views and walks just along the coastal path. Bideford, Appledore Northam and Instow are all close by with their own selection of pubs shops etc. Bideford and Appledore have quaysides (great for crabbing!) and Instow a beach and sand dunes. Also within 10 miles are the towns of Barnstaple and Great Torrington. Hartland Clovelly Croyde Woolacombe Ilfracombe all within reach by car. 26 miles of Tarka trail for cycling only 2 miles away. So plenty of places to visit for all ages and abilities.
