In the heart of the picturesque village of Vagia, 30 minutes walk from the Aphaia ancient temple and 5 minutes walk from the sandy beach, we created a traditional hotel to act as a base for those who want to discover the beautiful island of Aegina.

The space

In the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Vagia, 30 minutes walk from the ancient temple of Aphaia and five minutes’ walk from the sandy beach, we created a traditional hotel to act as a base for those who wish to discover the beautiful island of Aegina.
Respect for the surrounding environment and our passion for Greek culture and tradition, contributed to the creation of a warm in its simplicity place to make your experience on Aegina Island an unforgettable one.
Built in traditional Aeginian architecture Vagia hotel’s rooms and gardens are stone paved with Karystos stones. Our rooms are overlooking the Ancient Temple of Afaia and the blue waters of the Saronic Gulf.
Hotel Vagia features a large stone paved terrace, shadowed from a pergola holding harbour trees that produce grapes in the summer. Picturesque spots can be found throughout the hotel such as pergolas overgrown by bougainvilleas, as the hotel is surrounded by lush gardens. The terrace can be rented for special occasions such as weddings and we take care of the catering!
Do not hesitate! Give us the pleasure of having you as our guests!

Guest access

Aegina Island lies in the Saronic Gulf, about 1 hour by ferry from Athens and 30 min by hydrofoil. The village can be reached easily from the port of Souvala (2km away) or from the port of Aegina(12 km away). The bus that connects Vagia with Souvala and Aegina (bus stops only 50 meters from Vagia Hotel). The price indication for someone wishing to hire a taxi is 15 euros.
The drive from the port of Aegina to Hotel Vagia takes around 15 minutes. Should you wish, we can pick you up from the port of Souvala! You can rent bikes, mopeds and cars directly from our hotel that will be waiting for you at the port!

Interaction with guests

All day long! We are a family hotel!

Other things to note

The breakfast although awarded and known, is not included in the price of the room as we do not wish guests to pay for it if they do not wish for it. Should you wish to have breakfast please do contact us or state it when you visit us!

Everyone at Vagia hotel made us feel very welcome, with Notis giving us a great explanation of all the local beaches, restaurants and walks on arrival. He also recommended getting a scooter to travel round the island for a day, which was a great idea and a great way to see everything! The room was very clean and comfortable, with a big bed and great little balcony. Breakfast was delicious and the beach very close!

Hotel Vagia is a gorgeous little spot very near the sea. The hosts are extremely welcoming had great chat and will help you with whatever you need. The breakfast was delicious and well worth it. If you're looking for a quiet getaway this is the perfect place. The wifi was fast as well. No complaints whatsoever.

A very warm welcome when we arrived, greeted with a nice cold Greek beer. The hotel is beautiful, particularly the common areas. The breakfast, outside on the peaceful terrace, was a real highlight. The room could, perhaps, have done with a bit of TLC -- the shower had seen better days. All in all, though, a very pleasant stay.

The Vagia Hotel is as beautiful and clean as it looks in the pictures. The brothers who run it with their mother are welcoming and invite you in for orange pie and a glass of homemade Raki on arrival. On our first evening we were able to go down to the sandy bay for a swim at sunset before going back to the hotel for a delicious homemade meal of meatballs and rice. The cooking is phenomenal. The closest beaches are a two minute stroll away and you can choose from a secluded sandy beach to the right, or a shingle beach with sun loungers and a couple of friendly bars to the left. The sea is, of course, a clear blue. Our hosts were very attentive during our stay, helping us to organise Jeep hire (we decided against mopeds in the end, although they are everywhere on Aegina and look fun!), taxi bookings, restaurant recommendations and helpful tips for exploring the rest of this stunning Greek Island. I would recommend going to Moni Island for the day from Perdika for a special beach experience off the main island.

We stated at Vagia Hotel for a week and had a wonderful time. The room was lovely and clean, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The hotel is also only a short walk away from some of the best beaches on Aegina. We will definitely be back!
