Saskia has built a very special home that has everything you need to unwind and enjoy the local Costa Rican experience that she offers. Coming from Canada, I found the open kitchen to be so special, as is Saskia. I think she offers a special social bridge between European and local culture. If you would like to dive into a visual and auditory complex and beautiful adventure, consider staying with Saskia! If you are urban, for your first sleep you might benefit from ear plugs, and knowing that it takes a night to adapt to the wide range of Nature's evening and early morning symphonies. I really enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning. The basics are there and clean, and enhanced by Saskia's application of her artistic talents to her property, and the Fairy House where I stayed. Thank you Saskia for being a great base for some wonderful surfing!

I really enjoyed staying at Saskia's place. The location was perfect for me as I could enjoy time in nature, but still access the beaches at Playa Guiones for surfing. Saskia's place is special, it has horses, and a small farm feel. It is a great location and affords good hiking around the river. I would definitely recommend staying at Saskia's. Thanks for a wonderful stay Saskia!

Saskia was an incredible host. Getting to know her and her lively home was an amazing way to start our adventure in Nosara. She was very accommodating, helping us figure out transportation and giving us rides to the beach and supermarket. It took a day or two to get used to the critter life and the rooster concert early in the morning but overall it was a beautiful experience. We shared meals and many a lively conversation together while also respecting each other's space. The hut was comfortable and cool. I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Saskia if you are seeking an unconventional, nature-filled adventure.

I have never felt more welcome by a host ever! Saskia is THE most amazing host on Airbnb. Incredibly generous and really nice and sweet. The dogs and cat are also super friendly. Even the chicken "Tom", who doesn't really know he's a chicken. :) She takes such good care of her guest and all her animals that everybody feels happy all the time. The horses are allowed to roam freely by the adjacent river in the daytime and they always come home by themselves in the afternoon. That says a lot about how happy they are. The little "mushroom" house is really cute and perfect for one person. And the shared kitchen area is a really cool and nice area to chill in. Beautiful hammock too. I hardly wanted to leave the place at all. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, but I didn't use it much because Saskia made food for the both of us. A wonderful cook and very creative. The house is not too far from the beach, perhaps 30 minutes to walk and really easy and safe to hitchhike if you don't have your own transportation. Saskia took me in her car for sightseeing and to several beaches in the area. She has a quad you can rent and a surfboard and kayak. We went horseback riding together and had a blast. Really nice horses and the cutest little foal. Very highly recommended and I will definitely go back!

Saskia's place is absolutely phenomenal in every way. Beautiful and magical. I felt at home right off the bat. The directions were easy to follow. I showed up right around lunch time and she prepared some amazing gazpacho, perfect for cooling off after a long bus ride. She was also able to arrange for me to rent a quad from a friend of hers as the Nosara area is a bit spread out. Saskia was a wonderfully hospital host and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend staying here, however, be warned, you may never want to leave.

I stayed here for the weekend and was very happy. I haven't traveled on my own in a while, so I was a little nervous, but Saskia is very welcoming and her house is beautiful. She has a great eye for art and is an animal lover. There are 4 dogs, a cat, chickens and horses, and there's a river that runs on the property. The chickens wake up early but it's good motivation to take advantage of the day and be outside. You can bring ear plugs if you're sensitive, but it didn't bother me. Saskia is very kind and generous, and I spent some time with her and the other guests in the morning and evening. She took me to see the river on her property and where the river meets the ocean. I would love to come back soon and visit. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you love animals and being outside on a farm/ranch. Thank you Saskia!!
