Brand new tiny home up a dead end private mountain road, secluded and nestled in the woods alongside old stone walls and lots of trees. There is a kitchenette with a mini fridge/stove top and oven so you can prepare meals, a queen size bed , a couch with storage and a bathroom with shower. Ideal for a couple or solo traveler looking to disconnect and observe nature at work from the large windows. There is a fire pit and Adirondack chairs on the patio if it's not too cold out!

The space
This is a tiny home. 150 square feet large. As you can see from the photos, there's not much more to it than a single room with the bare essentials needed for a getaway in nature. A cozy bed, a bunch of pillows, a table and couch with a small kitchen (3 burner stove, mini fridge) and a small bathroom with a shower (the water pressure is decent). If you're looking to disconnect from wifi and finish that book you've been putting off, this is your place to do it.

There is also an outdoor fire pit that you're welcome to use but please bring your own firewood! You're welcome to pick up twigs and dead leaves to use as kindling (when the ground is dry).

The tiny home is situated towards the top of a dead end dirt road up a mountain. Translation: it's pretty quiet!

In terms of WIFI, it's acceptable but please don't expect to FaceTime or do video calls. Email, sending photos on Messages and even streaming of some Netflix appears to work ok but expect buffering at times. Translation: The wifi is there but it can be spotty. It seems to work better on computers/tablets vs phones. Expect zero cell service.

The closest house is my cabin further down the road - about 250' away (a full length football field is 300' for reference). There is a separate driveway for each dwelling so no physical interaction is expected.

NOTE: In the winter, you will NEED an AWD or 4WD vehicle to reach the cabin. The final .8 miles is on a dirt road that can/will ice over in winter. Please do not book if you don’t have this. The road is plowed but can ice over quickly making it difficult for a smaller front wheel drive car to get up or down safely. People live on the road full time but they have proper vehicles to deal with it. If you have questions about this, please reach out before you book.

Where you’ll be

Hobart, New York, United States

Situated on a Cowan Mountain in the western Catskills. The cabin is in beautiful and rural Delaware County, New York, where the neighbors are cows and chickens. There's also a 30-mile rails-to-trails route close by, which is perfect for runners, walkers, and bikers. Tasty restaurants, farmers' markets and interesting wine shops provide everything you need for a wonderful stay. Also, Hobart is the book village of the Catskills so you'll be sure to find a good read with their numerous used book stores close by.

Hi! If I'm ever slow to respond its because I'm out for a swim, bike or run. It's also possible I'm napping on the couch with the cats. I hope you book a stay :) xx
