Description

The space

I love the view from the property and this is why I bought it. It looks out over the town of Kirkcaldy to the Firth of Forth with Edinburgh on the opposite shore and the hills behind.

Guest access

Guests will have access to all that the Kingdom of Fife has to offer. Stunning harbours, easy access to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Whatever you enjoy, walking, cycling, sightseeing, fishing or golf is on hand. Each apartment is self contained and has a very well equipped kitchen including microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Guests will have sole use of the apartment.
I can also provide a high chair, travel cot and toys. Perfect base in Fife for families, couples or groups to enjoy all the Kingdom of Fife has to offer.

Interaction with guests

Guests will be met on arrival to make sure they have everything they need and contact numbers available if needed.

The neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is quiet with shops and restaurants within walking distance. It is also only a short walk from the home of the Fife Flyers, oldest ice hockey team in the country.
Beautiful views looking over the town to the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh and beyond.

Getting around

Parking is off road. Haig Apartments is a ten minute drive from the train station. There is ample free parking from here with trains to Edinburgh three times an hour going straight into the main street in Edinburgh. The railway journey from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh is classed as one the world's best railway journeys. Glasgow is also easily accessible by road or rail, approx. 1hr. Edinburgh airport is about a 40min drive and taxi fare is approx. £35. St Andrews is a 45min drive and be sure to take the coast road and enjoy the many stunning fishing villages enroute.
The bus stop is just around the corner and buses run every 20mins.

Positives: Great for space, fairly accurately described, well equipped, overall very clean, easy access with car, no traffic congestion, and in a good location for exploring Fife and surrounding areas. Negatives: Ground floor flat subject to noise from flat above, chose upper flat if possible. Kirkcaldy not all that exciting.

Overall meet our needs and suited what we were looking for. Plus points: spacious, lovely views out of bedroom windows, well fitted kitchen, price; down-sides: problems with heat, towels, wifi, etc on checking (sorted via phone call), beds not very comfortable with v cheap foam pillows, local area not great. Would use again if visiting area on business (not sure I would for personal/social reasons).

Property size it good decor is ok for the price and has everything you need for a family stay. The location is good 50 min drive to Edinburgh 10 min from train station asda aldi shops both close by 10 min from the coast. we stayed there for 3 nights while visiting family and friends in the area. unfortunately, the property is in need of a good clean with some fixtures in need of a repair. this was a shame as everything else was perfect I'm sure the owner will rectify this.

We loved our stay in Kirkcaldy. Tony was very welcoming and the house was warm and cosy. A perfect way to spend Christmas and New Years. Would definitely recommend!

I like the apartment mainly because of its lovely gardens and its good location. The beds are also comfortable. Overall it is a good apartment with good value for money. A slight drawback is that the internet stopped working on the second night of my stay until the last day (fourth day) of my stay but I think it is beyond the control of the landlord.
