We really enjoyed our 4 day stay in the quiet bush garden setting with rustic charm. The Lyre birds and Ducks were a real treat! We had mother with us plus 2 dogs and we all had good space to relax.

We had a great stay - the house, location - everything was gorgeous. Corey was a great host and great to talk to - also leaving us fresh bread, milk and eggs on arrival - the important things! It was great being able to take our dogs. Highly recommend Fern Tree Cottage if you are after a quiet relatively secluded time away in beautiful surroundings.

Hello fellow reviewers, I firmly believe in the quote of "unless you have something nice to say, then say nothing at all" however in this case, I booked Fern Tree Cottage based on others reviews so I feel obliged to recount my family's experience. The property is located in a beautiful location and looks just like the photographs provided. Corey confirmed all accommodation details prior to our arrival and met us at the property when we arrived. However, the house is very dark and the lights too dim to read by which may be caused by the inch of dead bugs in each light fitting. The couch is stained and smells dreadfully of dogs. The kitchen cupboards are grimy and sticky, the fridge smells and the oven was layered in grease and too unhygienic to use. I don't think that it is necessary for me to list all complaints but simply advising that we had booked to stay for 2 nights and instead left at 8am on the first morning is sufficient. I believe that Corey has good intentions and means well but I certainly cannot recommend this property.

Response from Corey:
Im so sorry you felt that way Kandi, and yes a property like this is well out of your range and your not the first to hate me and home ,as I have met you and jealousy is just something I have lived with all my life , this weekend was a three night stay but I was more that happy for you and family to stay just the two days the money was not important to me .I wanted you and family to just have a great time . As a farmer if you left when you said you did and left my animal's for dead ,you are disconnected.

I thought I'd spoil my wife with a birthday away at the foot of the mountains. It was everything we'd hoped for. A lovely home full of fascinating historical items at the foot of one of the most spectacular rain forest mountains we've encountered. Corey was a gracious host and provided us with all we needed. A beautiful property - with the river, a swing and the ducks to look after, the kids were more interested in staying in rather than chasing waterfalls!

A beautiful spot to get away and relax in nature. No internet, no mobile reception (a great way to disconnect for a while). Great to wander around the property or head into the National Park. Also close enough to shops in Yarram and the beach at Woodside for a few day trips.

My motto is "If you are doing what you love you never work again".
I like camping, fishing, gold prospecting, travelling & sight-seeing so am happy to show you around if you like. There are plenty of places for BBQ day trips.
I'll be on-site, far enough away for your privacy, but ready to assist with any requests & local advice.
