Perfectly situated on the West Hill of Hastings, within walking distance of the beach, this unique cabin offers a green oasis in the heart of the historic town of Hastings. The Beech Hut (named for the Weeping Beech tree at the entrance) is a self contained one bedroom accommodation in the grounds of The Beacon, one of the most unique venues in Hastings. The Beacon itself is a family home but also a part-time restaurant, venue, & arts space for the whole community, as well as a green wilderness.

The space
The Beech Hut is a beautiful timber cabin set in the green grounds of the Beacon garden. The simple open plan living space has a double-sided wood burning stove as it's centre piece and french doors onto your own private balcony overlooking the shared garden. There is a double bedroom plus a sofa bed if necessary for a child or extra guest. The bathroom has a full size bath with shower.
The Beacon itself provides a large lush green garden as well as a wild vegetable garden which you are free to explore.

Where you’ll be

East Sussex, England, United Kingdom

Perched on top of the West Hill we are ideally situated to access all the highlights of Hastings & St Leonards on foot. You can drop easily down over the West Hill into the historic old town where you can browse the independent shops, feast on fish & chips, visit the Hastings Contemporary art gallery or watch the traditional trawler fishing boats bring in their catch. There are great pubs, restaurants and the obligatory amusements and fun fair rides.

From the old town you can head up and over the East Hill to beautiful country walks by either climbing the many steps or taking the fernicular railway.

Walking the opposite direction will bring you to the iconic Hastings pier and vibrant St Leonards with it's beach cafes, vintage shops and fantastic eateries.

Finally just below us is the large and beautiful Alexandra Park as well as the new town with it's high street shops, pharmacies, banks etc.
