The space

From the outside our 100year old house doesn't look like much amongst the industrial streetscape but as you walk through you'll soon see it's full of surprises and unique attributes. High ceilings, renovated bathroom, commercial kitchen, vegetable garden and chickens; you'll feel like you're in the country.

The room has a loft which is where the main double bed is located. So you must be comfortable with stairs and be able to bend down a little to get into bed. The second bed is a sofa bed which is best suited to 2 small children or 1 adult and that is located on the ground floor. A double mattress can be placed in the room on the floor but this must be requested at the time of booking and definitely not after or on arrival.

Close to public transport and Free Tram or walk into the city or Bonython Park. Minutes to the New RAH, Entertainment Centre, Convention Centre, Universities, Central Market, Bars, Restaurants, Rundle Mall and Entertainment precincts. 20 minutes to Henley, Grange or Glenelg Beaches. 10 minutes to Airport. It's seriously the best location..

Guest access

We have 1 combined Bathroom/toilet and a single toilet which we will share, chefs kitchen which you would be more than welcome to use, as with cooking condiments, tea & coffee etc. and living areas, backyard and driveway.. All local amenities..ironing board & iron. Wardrobe space..WIFI (for general use, not large downloads/gaming/or hours of Netflix), shared TV, kids toys if you have kids with you.

Interaction with guests

Id like to start by saying that our house is a home and not an actual BnB or a hostel or hotel. We are considerate of each other, we ask each other about morning shower times the night before and I'll wash your glass or few dishes on the sink as you might like to do for us. As I have mentioned, (for short stay guests) I don't mind if you use my cooking condiments like oil etc. sometimes I cook enough to share and you may also do the same but don't feel obliged. I don't colour code or label shelves in the fridge or is my house full on signs.. we ask that we be thoughtful and considerate and most of all enjoy each other's company even in the briefest of stays..
I have an open door policy with my friends and family so people are popping in and out. I have a spare bed in our (Frieda & my) bedroom and so we may even have a guest staying while you are there.

Other things to note

There's a fairly well behaved threenager in the house and chickens are our pets.
We're non smokers.
We welcome families with young children and can maybe help out with a stroller, toys etc.
we love to cook..
And we have an open door policy with our friends and family as well as a spare bed in our (Frieda and my) bedroom for friends and family to stay, so you'll probably be seeing some of these people throughout your stay.
Frieda's dad comes over whenever he likes to see her and so you are likely to bump into him at some stage too.
We are not religious but we accept and respect people from all walks of life and religions and would expect the same.
We highly value excellent personal hygiene and cannot tolerate strong/old body odour or heavily perfumed personal products. Both my daughter and I are very sensitive to this and can become easily nauseated (I know weird but true)
In addition to guests staying we are a working busy family and are often rushing in and out of the house so we are not always on top of the housework however our bathroom is always clean and we tidy up when we have time, 3 year olds can get messy and so to avoid a nervous breakdown I don't jump on top of the mess because of the frequency of our guests, I'd be quite literally a mess if I did..

We are a non smoking household and would appreciate it if you would only smoke outside away from my little one's lungs and view..

Considering there's a small child present, I would expect only well behaved and respectful people.
Any drunk, drug, crude or sleazy, sexual behaviour will not be tolerated.

This is a home (not a hostel or hotel)and we welcome guests whom understand this.

We all need to be mindful of our personal space & the shared spaces. Bathroom hygiene is a must as my 3 year old doesn't need to be in contact with your body fluids.

It is preferable that people moving to Australia not book in as Our address is not be given out for any official mail or correspondence under any circumstances. Eg bank, Medicare etc

Our space is ideal for people whom are busy and are out and about and not home a lot unless of course you're sick.

Sitting inside all day or to wee hours of the morning with heating, cooling or lights on and having showers and being loud at 2am isn't acceptable.

For security & child safety I also ask that you be mindful of not leaving doors and gates open so my toddler can't run out on the road which she has a tendency to do as well as keeping your valuables, medications, make up etc out of toddler reach.

Me and my friend had a great stay at Nina's. The room is big and both beds are really comfy with lovely big duvets for cool nights. Nina was very friendly and Frieda was sweet!

This was a really nice stay. Close to the city with free public transport around the corner from the house. 5min walk to convenient store which have everything you need. The room itself is really cosy and spacious. The best bed I slept in for awhile. The house was clean and I felt right at home. Would recommend this to anyone. Thank you for the stay

Nina's place is very welcoming and Nina as a host is a delight. She also makes great food. Frieda, the little one is a pleasant company to have as well. The place is very close to the free tram that goes to the city and is very accessible from all major shopping and tourist places.

Nina's house is a wonderful, warm welcoming home. Like a big hug. The bedroom is HUGE and very comfortable and all the amenities are top shelf. Nina and little Frieda are wonderful hosts who are very welcoming and engaging to stay with. If you like to cook then the kitchen will blow your mind! The location is fabulous too. Far enough away from CBD to be quiet and close enough that you can walk in. I recommend doing that along the river, its just beautiful. I hope to stay here again the next time I come to Adelaide.
