The space

Fooding Loft is a newly restored apartment located on the top floor of one of XVIII century village oldest building, right in the heart of the quaint medieval borough of Rutigliano.
The loft is on two floors, the first (50 sqm) hosts the open plan kitchen and living area while the second, under a woodden slopy roof, includes the bathroom and the bedroom with direct access to the panoramic terrace, ideal for bfast and suntan.

Nick, the owner, is a well known showchef and event planner and food-artist. He lived in London for a long time so, he is a natural bilingual Ita/Eng .

Only 15 minute car (30 by train) from the centre of main town of Bari, home of the southern Italian nightlife and delicious food.
Rutigliano has an ancient history and it is home of the “sagre”, the village feists that bring lights, music and delicious foods right on the Loft’s piazza.

Only 50kms away from Valle d’Itria (a.k.a. Peace Valley thanks to presence of the Buddhist Ashram), home of the Trulli, the typical conical houses. Here you will admire a thriving countriside and take pics of the secular olive trees, today UNESCO heritage.
Only 1 hr away from Matera, the prehistoric city of stone, where Mel Gibson set his award winning “The Passion of Christ”, a sheer leap back in time.
The best way to explore Puglia is certenly by car.
Rutgliano is surrounded by the most beautiful natural landmarks of the region such as: Polignano a Mare – the city where the popular tune Volare was written – a small summer destination sharply built on a 20 meter high cliff and sitting on water caves you can visit by a local boat.
The sandy beaches of Monopoli (30kms away) will give you the feeling of being on a Carribean island.
The castel of Conversano (10kms away) will take you back in time and plunge you in the Medieval era.

Foodin Loft is used as cross-dinner venue, set for video-recipes and art gallery.

We had a great time at Nick's place and Nick is a fantastic host. He even cooked us a nice welcome meal on our first day. The loft didn't look as nice on the photos but was great all the same with a cute little roof top terrace with a great view of the town and even the sea! Overall we had a great time, the only regret was that there was no internet connection in the loft. A real bummer for us who had not had time to do research and book restaurants before arriving in Puglia.
