A simple bungalow amidst olive trees and date palms, herbs and flowers, chickens and goats. This is a perfect place to relax with a book and some (homegrown) lemongrass tea, just a 3 minute stroll from Siwa's centre.

The space

The bungalow is made of palm fronds, and lined with cotton. It's simply furnished with a double bed, table, chair, and wardrobe, surrounded by trees. Bathroom and kitchen facilities (with plenty of hot water!) are in the main house - constructed in local "shali style" out of mud. These are shared with Fahmi. Another double room is available in this house, if more guests were joining you.

Guest access

During hot summer the swimming pool will be ready, meanwhile banter around the fire at night is a great way to keep warm. Guests also have access to the kitchen, where they can cook their own meals. Fahmi is an excellent chef though, and organic food and drinks fresh from the garden are available for a reasonable price.

Interaction with guests

There can be as much or as little interaction with guests as they prefer. While Fahmi works in the garden during the day, there are plenty of secluded spots to be alone.

Sadly I didn't get to meet Fahmi as he was away at the time, so my experience was probably different to others. Either way, it's a nice little house with a cool garden. Plus it's great if you're on a budget!

I could not have picked a better place to stay! I stayed in the bungalow in the garden (Fahmi has also an indoor double bedroom and a separate house) and enjoyed every moment. Great central location yet in a quiet street, the garden itself with its trees, pool, animals and hamac is a place of relax. Fhami is attentive, caring and discreet; I really enjoyed his food too! This is perfect for both families and independent travelers who like the most natural aspect of Egypt. Recommended!

Fahmi is a great guy! He was not only very welcoming and generous (he allowed me to stay in the larger room free of any additional charge despite me booking the smaller one), he also showed me a unique aspect of Siwa which involved meeting his friends. The house itself is rather basic, yet with that being said it still has wifi, a fan and not to forget a lovely garden with fresh fruits. I not only recommend that those visiting Siwa should stay at Fahmi's, but all those who have few days to spare in Egypt should come to Siwa and experience his hospitality.

We stayed at Fahmis‘ for 3 nights and it’s the best place to explore this lovely Oasis city in the middle of the desert. Fahmi is a resident in siwa since many decades, therefore he knows the town and its surroundings like no one else. You can enjoy calm days in his beautiful garden full of date palms or jump into the buzzing life around the market square. Don’t hesitate to be Fahmi’s guest, as you won’t regret it!

Perfect space and even better location (just a 3min from city square and main mosque). Fahmi was very nice and helpful. There is expected problem with mosquitoes if you stay in the cabin in the yard but you can use a net. I highly recommend this place ❤

This place is the REALEST. The garden is heaven. You can't find more authentic accommodation in Siwa. Fahmi's garden is the real Siwa, and represents the true Egypt we all know and love. I'm Canadian Egyptian and have travelled to Egypt many times... Fahmy is the kind of person that makes this country great and makes me proud to know I have roots here. His garden is a super cozy and peaceful place to stay for its simplicity and authenticity. He produces some of the best dates I have ever tasted in the middle east. He has years of experience working in the tourism industry before opening his own place ... he really pours his heart and soul into his garden, home, and the happiness of his guests. Fahmi is a pioneer of hospitality in Siwa. Not to mention a funny, generous, and open person.
